If you look at the numbers... The Patriots lead the game in almost everything.
Passing Yards
Total Yards
First Downs
Plays
Rushing Yards(tied)
Less Penalties/Yards
Most importantly... Time of Possession
The Pats almost doubled the Falcons ToP. By halftime, their defense was gassed. Their offense coasted on their lead, and their defense was tired. Their D-line was nowhere near as effective in the second half, and the Pats defense was still fresh.
Love him, or hate him, Belichick knows how to exploit other team's weaknesses. And, Brady is a machine that thrives on pressure. Which makes for a deadly combination.
The Falcons owner made the mistake of counting his chickens before they hatched. He went down on to the field, to pre-celebrate, with over 10 minutes left on the clock. WHAMMY!!!

Must listen to the mic'd up players. Falcons have a loud mouthed receiver(Sanu) and also the Pats Edleman. In the first half Sanu(he caught 2 balls) was blabbing that the Falcons were going to lay 40 points on the Pats, and they had never seen a team like the Falcons....oops. Another player next to him kept saying but you know Tom Brady is on the other sideline....classic!
