Locked. No further comments permitted.24 million MORE will eventually lose insurance under new Trumpcare (part 2)

That's 24 million MORE than there would be under Obamacare (not just 24 million). Actually, that's 52 million by 2026 without insurance.

And premiums will go up for the next two years, then will go down. And the people over 60 will see the highest rise in premiums. And the wealthier people would get most of the tax breaks.

Sounds like just what Tramp promised. (Anyone know what that smell coming from Washington is?)

(Oh, and FYI, the current Secretary of HHS, Tom Price, appointed the current head of the Congressional Budget Office.)

We need to see where the numbers come from to know if this proposal is going to be a problem.

In 2008 we had 45 million without healthcare

By 2016 we has 20 to 22.5 million without healthcare while it is a forced requirement. That suggests that the 20 to 22.5 million could be made up of people who prefer to pay the penalty instead of buying insurance.

Of the people who bought insurance, how may of them actually get to use it with the high deductables and copays? Unless you have a costly chronic condition, you essentially have no medical insurance since most of the cost is out of pocket in addition to the premium.

In the proposed law, insurance is optional so some part of the 14 million for 2018 may be just people who choose not to buy insurance.

Also, the potential future affects of O-care needs to be studied to see how it may affect the number of uninsured and healthcare costs. With one-third of all counties with one provider, the cost could go so high that more people may opt to pay the penalty instead.

had an old family friend go thru cancer...he didn't have a pot to pee in. medicaid took care of him...cured the cancer. 10 years later had a major heart attack with tons of therapy and drugs....medicaid took care of it. now collects disability of which he really never paid into it....maybe that is like 900/mo

that is all before obama care came about.

him and his brother went 40 years without insurance. one of the brothers was a good saver and had to twist his arm...only after seeing his brother go down did he finally get it. he never made more than 60k, but managed to accumulate 1.5m so had tons to lose if he went uninsured.

they need to overhaul medicaid to handle more with better cost reimbursement structure

there will always be a small population that goes without...like the two above for a time.

i went at least a year when i started my business.

being on parents insurance covers the typical people that don't need it....but can kill parents retirement if something goes bad.

the ones that don't have money...are being taken care of. probably to the tune of a vet and that system.

we will have to see

there were many employers stuck at the 29 and 49 number of employees that if they went over would be like going over a cliff of extra costs.

this held back jobs. so now there will be more jobs...and some will no have health insurance.

when i worked with business...getting them to get employee health insurance was a big deal...it's clear of payroll taxes, workmans comp insurance. the problem was rising premiums.

some employers used to have the employees go get their own insurance and paid them to do it....but obama care shut that loop hole down

again...its a tricky thing. having gov't or rich people pay for all poor people is not the answer though.

Why don't you get all the facts? Check on how many will lose if they don't change the health insurance.

they said the cbo is decent on money aspects but not number people buying insurance or not...especially with no mandate penalty. when they had the mandate penalty....they still missed by over 10million people in projections.

btw...are any of you rooting for nothing to get done and just keep it the way it is?

what lives?? are we talking about health insurance?

have any experience with this? be honest? i was up close and personal with a family friend that had two major things...cancer, heart attack to go along with high blood pressure and verge of diabetes. not a pot to pee in and he has been taken care of by medicaid? gets monthly medicine and monthly therapy. so what is the problem? he has never really paid any taxes...and gets disability to boot

they will expand and fix this system how they get paid to get rid of some waste/fat....my friend has not paid a penny for anything. the cancer/hrt attack was before obama care.

so what is the issue? he didn't die...but wouldn't have been the worst thing...he says that all the time.
