the other way around
the new ag can indict the old pos potus for white collar crimes

No.
Unfortunately, the process of impeachment is a Congressional prerogative. The current POTUS can ask Congress to Impeach him... but it's up to the House of Representatives to decide to Impeach or not, and then up to the Senate to decide to convict (and remove from office) or not. Not something any President can do.
As for the other "suggestion" made-- yeah, Donald Trump could direct his Attorney General to file charges against the former President.... they'd still be tried in court, and he'd have to get a conviction via the normal means. Doubtful that he'd be able to pin anything illegal on Obama-- on the other hand, pretty sure he could convictions for a wide variety of crimes (war crimes, treaty violations, lying to Congress and the American people, falsifying intelligence) against George W. Bush and Dick Cheney (along with many of their appointees).
I'm still pretty sure Trump isn't going to do any of that-- he doesn't want to set a precedent that will be used against him next.

Should have added in there-- according to the Constitution, it's specifically up to the House of Representatives to decide to even begin the process of Impeachment or not-- and there's nothing the POTUS can do if they tell him no.

don't forget, it still requires 2/3 majority or 67 votes to convict and remove from office
doubtful with the way partisan politics is, that will ever occur
|
|
I don't think the President or ex-Pres can be tried for crimes while he is/was in office, but with Clinton the Republicans set the precedent (which they may well regret) that a President can be tried while in office for crimes when he was not in office. Oops... President Pence anyone?
|
|
I should have added... The Pres can be tried in a regular court, does not require impeachment or Congress to act, if his (or her) crimes were committed before taking office.
So seems a President could be tried for treason, convicted, and executed, if the treason happened before the inauguration... although he has power to pardon, so seems tricky.

"allot" is not a word.
But I appreciate your positivity.

Allot is a word, meaning to portion out. The usage was incorrect. Correcting usage doesn't add much to a conversation, as this correction confirms.

I really hope Trump appoint a special independent posercuctor to investigate the HRC. But i guess the liberal don't give a shit about the money she stole from the black Haiti earthquake victim. But these liberal will virtual signals and cheer on as blm riot.

The Libs are still mad they lost the election. What an embarrassing group of people here who already are talking impeachment prior to someone taking office.
Very uneducated and short sighted., but again, you are here.

It's not the election, it's all the new crap.
And when the poop hits the fan, I will personally be the one to tell you "told you so."
|

shit will hit the fan. 19 trillion in debt. the last 8 years have been kicking the can down the road. making the problem bigger. Trump can't fix that. no one can. the best he can do is to not make it worst and not kicking the can down the road further.

Can someone who doesn't have the authority to impeach someone in office impeach someone who isn't in office?
Good one.
|
|
HoR is Republican heavy and finding a 2/3 majority votes to impeach him will take a lot of convincing or his numbnut actions could tip the scales for impeachment. Mike Pence wound surely be happy if that were to happen.

The truth will prevail eventually. ..
