I hope the French deal with the wilted fry issue. I really enjoy their food, but soggy or wilted french fries can really screw up a good meal.

The French are a very practical, pragmatic people. From what I am told by acquaintances who have lived there for decades, in France they are able to see that the lesser of two evils is less evil. I am not sure that everyone liked the choices but between the two, the picked the one that was as good as they had, even if it wasn't the good one they really wanted. They will still be rolling through a shit storm on their economy and immigration so their troubles are not over.
