when employers can actually afford an employee...putting them on health insurance 10 years ago was generally a good idea. Its a dollar for dollar benefit and ties the employee to the company...if you keep giving raises it's salary plus payroll taxes plus workman's comp so maybe 1.25 vs the dollar for just health coverage.

It used to be a good deal and great benefit...last ten years it's becoming too expensive outpacing any raises the employee would have been earning on yearly bases.

the latest proposal on medicaid would have ~5million more people on the rolls over next ten years than on right now???

i have seen three people before obama care with cancer, hrt attack and nursing home get taken care of and nursed back to health with zero money out of pocket. people are not going to die and haven't even before this crap.

one figure i saw on the proposal was a person 64 years of age would see premiums go up 5800 bucks....who gives a shit...they are supposed to be higher and planned for...like how you would pay for offspring going to college. 25 years in financial planning...this was planned for...just like college tuition.

another year or so and that dude get medicare and pays about 150 a month total....suck it up.

they need to work on overhauling medical cost transparency and competition

So you've seen 3 people who weren't affected by their healthcare cost and that's a large enough sample size in comparison to the total population for you to make a definitive declaration on the healthcare debate??

you just commented on employers and medicaid with some life and death talk a few minutes before

no one is going to die on a new plan more than obama care or before it.

people who don't make much money will be on medicaid...once they make more and have assets to protect they will get insurance.

you get a nice little amg sl63...you have something to protect

Many of you dummies have a pre-existing condition which is called 'stupidity' which Trumpet also suffers from, but he won't admit it, just like many of you.

Lol, marbles, I just let these dumbfucks, like fisher psycho dude, ramble on about 'healthcare'.

The discussion is so low level that I cannot even partake. It's more fun just to sit back and pick on the weirdos.

Fischer you are a sweetheart and we all have our faults

Healthcare should be Bipartisan...I think there was a Republican govenor in Mass that gave health care to all?? Mittens Romney??? One person stated the Middle class is the one who gets fucked and that is the truth! If the 1 or 2% would give up 1 of their Millions it would make a Huge difference...Bigly! But instead the want a health bill that gives them more income....Sad!

If they are poor, sick, and can't afford doctors, they should die. Better for those who are healthy and contribute to the over all well being of the species. Darwin.

One of the problems is lower healthcare costs will probably mean less access to more advanced treatments, unless you're rich and can pay most of the cost. So what do you want, price or access to advanced treatments?

"Advanced treatments cost less in countries were there is better price control than here in America."

Can you say National Health System (i.e. France)? On the down side in Britain you often have to wait for treatment.

The average couple can expect to spend over $400,000 in retirement on health care, age 65-87.

Health Care costs increase about 6% per so, in about 12-years that $400k is going to be $800k

ObamaCare told you what you need in a health care plan thus a 60 year old woman got maternity care

TrumpCare you get to choose what's in the plan.

Both plans stink

It's the single payer (ie national healthcare system) fight. Rep. and others don't want government mandating everything. We're f_cked if we do or f_cked if we don't. We'd rather fight over a system that's slowly bankrupting the country.

Happy wealthy Wed.

It would be really nice, if they would stop doing the republican vs democrats . I bet they could actually come up with a good bill for both parties.

not sure he is the biggest opponent against of the 9? two of them seem to be pretty easy...the first and last one and make a lot of sense.

Here's a quick rundown of the four key changes Paul is seeking in the bill:

1. Create association health plans: This would allow groups of people to band together and create their own risk pool to access health insurance coverage. The current bill allows self-employed people to sign onto small business plans — Paul wants this expanded.

2. Reduce spending on "insurance company bail outs": The Senate bill currently includes funding that would help insurers offset costs for low-income Americans in the individual insurance market and a state stability fund that can be used to reduce premiums and expand coverage. Paul said these merely help to grow insurance companies' profits.
AdChoices

3. Eliminate premium tax credits: The current BCRA would give people making between 100% and 350% of the federal poverty line money to buy insurance. In the letter, Paul asked McConnell "to reconsider the advanced, refundable nature of this entitlement."

4. Eliminate the continuous coverage requirement: The BCRA includes a provision that says anyone who goes without insurance for more than 63 consecutive days in a year must wait six months in the following year before they can get access to coverage again. Paul said this constituted another version of Obamacare's individual mandate and asked McConnell to "simply allow insurance companies to impose a waiting period."

My solution:

Anyone who can't get health insurance through an employer or Medicare gets to enroll in the Federal Employees Health Care Plan in their area. There must be a federal employee in almost every city in the USA. The government can subsidize or allow deductions based on income.

Not surprisingly (for here), nobody has mentioned one of the absolute main changes that needs to occur in this country for ANY system to have a chance for survival/success.

Tort reform.
