Happened to me once.
They coughed up money so I could buy some clothes and toiletries since I was away from home. It took them 2 days to get them to me. Now I always pack a change of clothes in my carry-on just in case.

Mike that's exactly What they told me. Lesson learned lol

I've never been to Europe, but I'm pretty sure my luggage has

this is the universe's way of telling you that you're not supposed to be wearing clothes this week.
haven't had luggage lost by an airline, but i have had some cash stolen from a backpack. had to check it at the last minute and forgot the cash was there. was pissed - but more at myself for not thinking clearly when checking the bag. expensive lesson.
good luck. hopefully it'll turn up soon.

My bag was lost for a day. When they found it they delivered it to my house.
I found out the hard way it's not smart to check in everything. I once was delayed eighteen hours in Dallas and my toiletries was in my check in bag.

Peregrine, was that that $1000 that "fell out of a backpack" I found at LAX. If so, thanks.
I've rarely had my luggage lost, but once my luggage got to the destination but I didn't because of flight cancellations...and no they didn't reimburse me for the value of me.
yes jet blue lost mine when i flew from portland to new york, i took them a whole day to get it delivered to me at my hotel
it was. least you could do is buy me a beer...
emily, they probably spent the time playing with your underwear.
Would it be considered "buying you a beer" if I did it with your money? See, I had a good reason.
When I traveled, I'd ship my stuff via FedEx or ups Never an issue that way

United lost mine on way to Costa Rica. Was a nightmare. Missed 2 and 1/2 days of paid for tour. They gave me a travel kit. Big joke !! Was very distressing. Same clothes for 3 days. I hate United.
Would love to see you Petite Skyler

Fuck United Airlines, for 1000 reasons I can't even remember right now.
I gladly pay extra to avoid giving money to those idiots.
United sucks. They lost a ton of my camera equipment and took them a month to send it all back.
They lost my brand new LV bag inside my suitcase once..
This sucks nuts lol
I'd be happy with some pj's an hairspray lol
"...and no they didn't reimburse me for the value of me."
(I'm still waiting for one of the ass hats on here to give me the "$1.99?" reply.) These old people get slower and slower every day.
"By doing so, your clothes are tracked and insured."
and ransacked by the time you get there...(just kidding)
Of course. anyone that travels a lot will have a lost piece or two sooner or later. One tip is that airlines will frequently send your bags on an earlier flight if you check in too early. Generally the luggage isn't lost just in their unclaimed area.
Airlines used to do a great job finding and getting you your lost luggage. Now not so much.
skyler, i'll bring you some pjs.
just tryin' ta be neighborly.

I traveled a ton for many years. At one point I had 4 million miles just on AA. Several times I had problems with luggage- never lost any but luggage either showed up on next flight or delivered to my hotel the next day but still a unwanted hassle.
Here is a little joke to use that might make you feel better:
Next time you check in for a flight and the airline asks you if you have any luggage to check- say yes I have 3 pieces to check. The first, please check to Dallas, the second one to Boston and the last one to Chicago. She will say "Sir, we can't do that! Just say, yes you can; you did it the last 3 times I flew this airline!
Flew to Boston once. Never been to Chicago but the luggage went to SFO then Denver. Got switched to Chicago and then jfk. I am not sure how it got to Boston . There may have been a stop in Philadelphia. UNited had made a concerted effort to get the luggage to Boston but by that time I was in Maine. They did send it up to me 2 weeks later. Carry on lasted longer than I figured
deaker, I guarantee you that joke gets you bumped...BELIEVE ME.
@interface- did you get the credit for the extra miles that your luggage flew? i think that's the least they can do for loosing it in the first place.
They have lost my luggage multiple times, never found. They will issue you as reimbursement for $750 max if you claim high valuables. That's the silver lining. Lost my last luggage on Air France in 2015
It finally arrived at the hotel last night LOL
So same day? Must have been a nightmare sexy!
Not personally, but I've heard of being sent to wrong airport or destroyed
Always pack essentials in your carry on if you're checking bags. At least a full set of clean clothes for the next day.
Also besides the change of clothes, put your prescription medicines in your carry on too
^Don't forget your teddy bear.
If u want ur luggage on ur flight is buy a starter gun and put it n ur check n luggage and tell them u have a gun an it gets tagged an will be there .
