I think the compressor is out or the start capacitor, freezer still works, but I need a good tech to fix it

Your point?

If the freezer works, it isn't the compressor as neither would work if it was out.
If you haven't yet, vacuum the coils as if they get dirty, the unit won't cool properly. I've even seen them quit working due to dirty coils, as the compressor can freeze up. Since your freezer is working, it I unlikely the compressor has anything to do with it, but vacuum the coils anyway.
That is actually good news as a new compressor would be expensive

Would you be willing to fix his fridge for some fine woman's clothing?
|
|
No, asking for a repairman on this site, shows he has some underlying mental issues, so I wouldn't want to deal with that.

If its one of those big ass sub zeros, it has 2 compressors. One for the fridge might be dead, while the freezer one is still good.
|
|
What say you to that puf?
|
|
I say it is unlikely he has two compressors.
Start by vacuuming the coils, if the unit is frozen or partially frozen unplug it for several hours after it has been cleaned. Most people do not clean the coils, and it is often the problem but may not be.
And try Yelp instead of HX if it does need service

Well if it is frosted up, it can seem that the freezer is working, but the refrigerator doesn't get cold enough. Had this happen twice, once the heater coil in the automatic defrost function had a bad connection and the last time the temperature sensor in the defrost circuit was defective. If you empty the freezer section and turn it off or unplug it, the frost will melt after a few hours. When you plug it back in it will work ok until it frosts up again (a week or so was my experience). Since it wasn't a refrigeration of compressor problem I was able to to troubleshoot and repair it myself (electrical engineer) with parts I got at an appliance parts store.

it is like a sub zero, but a cheap shit copy kitchen aid
only 1 compressor
puf, even though this is an unusually twisted social media site, there are actually some decent people here too and good business contacts, not everyone is unstable

Stop buying cheap shit and splurge on the real thing.
