Thinking about the same thing right now. Have you looked at Sling and the other two by DirecTV and Sony?

I have a friend that uses the kodi and they like it, but the user interface is much more involved than I want to deal with on a daily basis.

I cut the damn cable years ago. I don't miss it much, except during Dodgers Baseball season.

Right now I have a Roku box, a digital antenna (the flat RCA one is great for $40) in 2 rooms:
1 time Cost- About $150 for each TV.

My monthly TV expense is:
Netflix : 7.99
Hulu: 7.99
Sling: 19.99
Total: 35.97
I spend 36 bucks a month and still watch everything I want, except I have to wait a day for the shows to hit VOD. Whoo Pee.

Never again cable!!

And if you go to sling.com they throw in a free Roku player for signng up for 3months of service.
SO for 60 bucks you get the roku box forever and the service for 3 months.

A little bit technical but easy to do.

Bought a Raspberry Pi 3 now. And loaded Kodi then loaded Specto Fork, Tons of movies and shows online. An Antenna gets better HD than most cable/satelite services who compress it. Luckily here in LA we just have to point it to Mount Wilson, San Diego I do not know....

There are many other uploads for Kodi including sports, how I watch Dodgers without time warner when the mood strikes. Or football games not on the regular stations.

We still have uverse here though, boarder pays for it, if I was on my own though I believe I could get buy with a high speed internet line.

I have amazon prime for shipping but never use their video service seems weakly stocked as netflix.

I'm disappointed with Kodi.

For every 1 stream that works there will be 20 more that dont.
I did find a Logan stream that was shit quality with out of sync dialog. Yay?

Over hyped if you ask me

Just today I tried to connect to some hockey streams and all of the streams failed but 1.

I can find reliable streams of live sports easier on my laptop.

Think Ill stick with the old fashioned way of downloading torrents and dropping them in the Plex server.

I have all 3

Lol you won't ever miss cable with all of them you get all the shows and movies for way less than half the cost. But I don't watch TV all the time.

And if I wanna see something I take my ass to the gym to work out and watch it on the treadmill LOL 😂

that's great fub.

i know some of those services have a cable add on like showtime for extra fee

hbo show and starz not exactly sure which ones available with which service.

sports? angel games, dodgers/lakers? golf? espn (is that part of sling?)

what about fox news ?

i know i am getting fucked for another year...in the high 200's includes NFL network which was my overriding factor with last minute decision had to make.

if you need sports check out sling, directv now, youtube TV, and sony Vue. they are more for streaming live TV like sports instead of on demand shows like hulu or netflix. they all have free trials so you can check them out first.

last year switched internet to timewarner...fastest connection. i think it was like 116 a month.

they called me back and said i could get their basic TV service plan and they would cut 8 bucks off my bill to 108. I said ok...but don't connect it as i like directTV and NFL network.

i guess it could help me watch dodger games

Get one of these and install KODI (should come with it on key). You'll be able to watch everything for the cost of your internet connection.
