No worries. Governor Brown just signed a tax bill raising the gas tax and vehicle fees taking at least $5.2 billion annually from taxpayers I'm sure it willl get better soon. Enjoy having $1,000 less to spend.

The idiots you keep electing are not your friends!!!
Ever hear of a "Road Diet"???
Their solution to traffic congestion is taking away lanes, not repairing roads, raising taxes to make it more expensive to drive. Basically making it such a miserable experience to drive that you stay off the road, so they can get around easier.
In their eyes you are the problem, not the customer that needs service.

^^^Can Fubs catch the ball in the air?

Elon will drill s tunnel through the santa monica mountains. The gas tax increase is supposed to be for fixing roads and bridges. Current estimate id that what is actually needed is twice that much. So the legislature will realise that since it isnt enough and divert it so it can completely fund the next legislative study junket.

FUBAR always says he's throwing the ball FOR me, but I have a feeling he's really throwing it AT me

Laugh at those who believe $10/month or $120/year.
That may be the .12 cents per gallon and if you read the law it can go to .30 cents.
What the government didn't tell you, let's take food for instance, the machinery to plow the fields etc. is going to cost more.. price goes up...the trucks who pick up the harvested food cost more... price goes up...the supermarket is going to pay more for the food will charge more... restaurants willl charge more.
Trucks move most of the items in this country. All items will increase in price to cover the gas tax increase.
Who does this hurt the most? Those less fortunate.

This law is NOT just about a 12 cent per gallon tax....
At present, base excise tax is 18 cents a gallon. In addition, there is a price-based excise tax currently set at 9.8 cents a gallon, for a total rate of 27.8 cents a gallon
On Nov. 1, 2017 the base excise tax will increase to 30 cents a gallon plus the price based excise tax (kind of like a sales tax for gas...as the price of gas goes up, this price based excise tax goes up). So 30 cents plus the variable price based, we might be around 39.8 (assuming no change from present).
On July 1, 2019, the price-based excise tax will reset to 17.3 cents a gallon no matter what is present might be. So even if crude oil production is beefed up and the cost of gasoline actually stays the same or even goes down, on July 1, 2019 we will have the base excise tax of 30 cents, plus the 17.3 cents for price based excise tax or 47.3 cents per gallon. So we will see another 8 cent per gallon tax.
Also, diesel, the fuel that powers the majority of trucking is going up 20 cents a gallon immediately.
Presently diesel fuel has a local and sales tax averaging 8.5%,and a State diesel sales tax of 1.75%. That increased to 5.75% on November 1, so the life source of transportation will cost 20 cents plus 4% of the current price of diesel
Vehicles will also face increases in registration fees from $25 to $175 per year based upon vehicle value.
Finally, all of these numbers are set to increase according to the cost of inflation, so these fees can rise forever.
|
|
And it sure takes a lot of fuel for 1 tractor trailer to make 1 trip.
|
|
So just start adding to the price of EVERYTHING that is NOT produced locally.

Frog....you are the nutcase if you can't actually see the caps are for emphasis....we don't have bold or italics readily available, so caps is the next best thing.
In fact, two other people used caps for emphasis just in this blog. So, I think you are the person who might be wrong.
And the fact that it bothers you so much, GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried to be civil to you, but you are the lesser man, since you just can't let anything go.
