Good, about time you gas guzzling giant suv drivers pay more taxes!
We have too many progressive taxes, we need more regressive taxes like sales tax and this gas tax to even the playing field.
+1000 Rowdy...
There we go again yep the real squeeze is on us led by the party in charge and King Brown. Time to get the governater back he only squeezed boobies and any other feminine part within his grasp.
Which made us all happy

It isn't just the fuel tax increase....
You have to look at the entire taxation and fees in this state.
We will have around the 3rd or 4th highest gas taxes in the country.
Although our previous vehicle registration fees put us in a reasonable place, the new fees will move us to the top 15 or 20.
We are around 15th in property taxes (thank goodness we are not in the top 10)
We are 1st in cap and trade taxes
We are 1st in State Sales Tax according to the Sales Tax Institute (not including local taxes)
We are # 1 or #2 in State Income Tax rate.
We have been ranked #50 as the worst state to own a car based upon 3 year costs, including taxes, fees, insurance, gasoline, etc.
Several organizations have rated California as the most unaffordable state in the country.
And what do we get for it....
We are in the bottom 10 of most rankings of school system.
Our roads are among the worst, obviously the reason for this gasoline tax increase (of course, where has all the other money we have supposedly allocated for roads gone???)

Yep, and if the few trumpy supporters living in CA leave the state our homeless and mental health costs will drop drastically!
Fuck a tax out I just want him to uphold the 2nd amendment.
redbull, you obviously have NO idea about who supported Trump. Here are the names of some of the billionaires who support him.
Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal
Billionaire activist investor Carl Icahn
NY Jets Owner Woody Johnson
Tom Barrack, chairman of Colony Capital Inc
Stephen Feinberg the cofounder and CEO of private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management
T. Boone Pickens, chairman and CEO at BP Capital
Wilbur Ross, U.S. billionaire, chairman and CEO of WL Ross & Co. LLC
and the list goes on.....
Liberal democrats all assumed what YOU seem to believe...
There are not that many homeless and mentally ill people in the country to elect him president.
The fact that so many Californians support Hillary is evident THEY may be mentally ill considering the above statistics about our state....
This state is on the edge of bankruptcy and most of you don't even see it coming....our bond rating, increase in welfare benefits and subsidy programs, continued movement of corporations OUT of California, etc.
Hey derby....how many degrees do YOU have?
California spends $30 billion a year on illegal immigration but only $5.2 billion for roads.
Rowdy.....why don't we make the illegal immigrants build the roads????
The only taxes Trumpet will cut are his own. What a selfish pig.

Do you all understand the huge increase in the standard deduction?
That is a huge tax reduction for most of the lower tax payers in the country.....whereby most of the rich people already have more than that number in deductions.
I doubt most of you have actually looked at the components...just listen to main stream media who just want to say the rich get all the breaks.
artnjazz...since you are already convinced you won't get a tax break....you can just send your tax decrease to me...thank you.
jazz51
Who are these 'lower tax payers in the country' you mentioned?
Please provide a salary range.
And please don't copy and paste shit or provide a link.
all married people get ~24k standard ded vs ~12k before...will help most people that do not own a home and maybe marginalize the ones that do.
all state and local as well as property taxes are on the chopping block.
the state tax deduction was a major source of AMT so if trying to get rid of it now might be the time to try and get it through
WallyShill,
Are you just dumb or stupid....or possibly both?
I'll give you a chance to just pick one.
artzjazz.....
I found all those number on a dozen different links...can't put them all here as clickable.
Do your research and just google California taxes, gas tax, property tax, vehicle registration fees, education, etc, compared to the rest of the states....
It is scary how we compare...LOL.
