don't even want to talk about it?

I'm a victim. I just gave $3.45 to the Red Cross, when I could bought a Foty.

OP,
I wonder how much the climate would change if North Korea, a signature member of the Paris Accord, detonated their hydrogen bomb in the atmosphere.

Since no vics coming out, how about what do you think what the victims' thoughts were?

i haven't met an 'earth first' climate change proponent who is willing to:
- stop driving cars and flying in airplanes
- stop using their cell phone
- go vegan, on account of all the energy it takes to produce meat
- take any real steps towards reducing their carbon footprint.
all these people talk a big game but no one really wants to give up all the modern conveniences just to help stop climate change.
case in point: abra.lin - he's not planning any real action that will make a difference in the world. instead, he's here trying to get people who see and think for themselves to change their mind. but without providing any real evidence that might change minds. he'd rather tell us how stupid and inconsiderate we are for not giving a shit.

Since you care to say what you think, do you care to remember how you get it?
Really, if you look again, it looks like talk shows propaganda.
There are so many logical fallacies and sophistry in it. To be specific, nobody asks everybody to stop driving their cars or stop flying. That's not the Paris Agreement, for example.
So many people take real steps - see the plenty of hybrid cars - it saves money too.
Does everybody want a model S, right?
"all these people talk a big game but no one really wants to give up all the modern conveniences just to help stop climate change. "
Again why are you so fixated on this? Many people buy Energy Star appliances. LEDs. Saving money is arguable but, say, LED's are just better.
German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Senior Advisor for General Issues of Energy Efficiency Georg Maue said: “Energy Efficiency plays a key role in Germany’s energy policy, the Energiewende, which aims to achieve a highly efficient and almost carbon neutral economy by 2050 at the latest. Our latest program, the National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency (NAPE), focuses on innovative industrial processes, energy-efficient buildings and products, and long-term investments. We are happy and grateful that ACEEE honors German efforts in its report. However, we will continue to step up our efforts, as there is a long way to go for us to reach our target of reducing the energy demand by 50% by 2050.”
It's not just talking. They have a plan and they are doing it. China is going to ban combustion engines, probably faster than other countries that set a date of 2040.
"case in point: abra.lin - he's not planning any real action that will make a difference in the world. instead, he's here trying to get people who see and think for themselves to change their mind. but without providing any real evidence that might change minds. he'd rather tell us how stupid and inconsiderate we are for not giving a shit."
Why would I need to plan real action to save the world? I would rather have politicians like the Germans.
You bring up several levels of people, between:
Deniers - it's fake and oppose to doing anything
Hopeless - nothing helps so we just wait and see
One cannot be all of them. I am trying to understand what individual people think, not try to listen to big oil propaganda all at once, which purpose is to suppress any action against them.
As for real evidence, do you think black holes are real? How do scientists prove themselves? If black holes are fake, all the professors in state universities are black hole sympathizers who are cheating your money big time. They should be your first targets.

Seeing is believing, first time ever in recorded history two category 4 storms hit the US.
Perhaps this will be the new normal for the south, then again people will believe whatever
reinforces their beliefs. Can't cure stupid, a lot of simple minded people out there especially
the idiots that were shooting at the hurricane.

wow. totally missed my point.
to be clear: be the example.
you can't get someone to want to change by shaming them.
but just for grins, try reading the book 'state of fear' by michael crichton. it's the only one of his books that will never be made into a movie - because it goes against the mainstream views about global warming. but it's based on facts. and it's a good read.

Are you scrolling that far down to see what I have to say?
OK, I admit I made a mistake. Tesla screwed up. I got a hybrid for the time being as I said I would. I got the wrong car!
Yes, 0-60 may take over 10 sec or forever. But I discovered the power button. I left all the other cars behind at the lights, far behind. MBZ, BMW, Lexus, whatever model. I wasn't even going full throttle so as not to give my passengers too much g-force. Not even sports cars can match. Real sports cars do better, like Maserati. But their cars sound so silly loud for all the world to hear to get even with a cheapo hybrid at the lights.
It won't end well. I'm a man of many speeding tickets and I had been banned once for months.
