Go nats then hope game 5 goes 20+ innings
Go Dodgers!!!!!

My bad, I thought this was going to be about the air in OC.

I have a friend that is on the Nat's coaching staff. He will only work for Dusty, loves the guy.
When Dusty was between jobs so was my friend. He would follow Dusty to Azerbijian if they played baseball there and Dusty got a coaching gig.

Think the Nats haven't played great and they're still playing a game 5 tonight. I think their 1-2 punch with Strasburg and Schezer are pretty imposing. Think Arrieta and Lester set up better for the azul. But knowing my guy Dusty, he's going to make some decision that'll boomerang on him tonight. Hopefully for him, the Nats bats wake up and take the pressure off of him.

Go Panthers!

Something screwy always happens to Dusty. Now he's off until FEB. Maybe one season it'll break right for him.

A very well played and entertaining ball game tonight. Astros are a complete team with a major strength in batting. They may be one of the best hitting teams in recent memory. Their small / strange stadium helps them score runs.

You mean you weren't talking about The American Dream?!

I believe he passed away some years ago. He was a notable wrestler of the 80s, but far from my list of favorites. FYI Dusty Baker > Dusty Rhodes and the margin is not close whatsoever.

Just getting your back side!

I am receptive to your suggestion, Fubar. He was an all-timer. I was a big fan of Ricky The Dragon Steamboat (what a fucking handle) and of course Rowdy Roddy Piper. Those were my dudes. I convinced my father to take me to the LA Sports Arena in the early 80s to see a match between Piper and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorf. The match was memorable and much respect to my father for taking me. That was quite the mensch move for the old man.

Went and saw the Iron Sheik. Oh that camel clutch!

I liked when George ate the padding off the turnbuckels.

Ultimate Warrior's entrance theme was electrifying the first time I saw him make his debut on TV. Hulk Hogan's theme too! Undertaker's theme always got me up on feet clapping becuz of the damn gong. Austin 3:16 and the Rock rounds out the rest.
And @heyduke, i knew who u were talking about but first thing that came to mind was The American Dream.

Dusty was let go by the Washington Nationals today. He led them to back to back playoff appearances, but didn't win a single series. Dusty will land on his feet, he always does. The Washington club places no value on consistency, they'll now be looking for their sixth manager in ten seasons.

all to keep harper...maybe only way is to make him player/manager...otherwise bye bye and hello yankees

I found Hacksaw Jim to be offputting. And I tend to be someone who appreciates theatrics. There was spitting involved with an over the top nationalistic vibe. 2 x 4 is a cool prop, no doubt. But Dugan himself was not my cup of tea, darling.
What about that whole hick clan...Hillbilly Jim, Uncle Elmer, Cousin Luke, Cousin Junior? What was your take on that whole storyline / character development ? I'll give you mine...underwhelming. Hillbilly Jim by himself is a solid character. Simple minded from the Kentucky mountains. Trained by Hogan, he carried a gravitas. But the introduction of his family was too much. Far, far too much. Uncle Elmer was the most boring wrestler that I can recall. His arsenal of moves involved basically smothering his opponent in any conceivable fashion. In the clinch, on the ropes, when on the mat...always smothering. I recall fondly when King Kong Bundy dropped his Appalachian ass inside of 20 seconds in a perverse matchup of obese athletes. If that wasn't bad enough, the cousins were introduced. They were nondescript hillbillies. Their only distinguishing characteristic was that they were cousins. I do not recall the cousins ever wresting a contest of note...for good reason.

Hey Blue. Sweet win for the Dodgers last night. Chicago didn't prove to be much of a contest. Now they're sitting pretty, lying out and waiting for Tuesday with Kershaw Game 1. Classie Freddie Blassie and Mr. Moto were my dad's favorites. Told him one time I didn't like this manager named Freddie Blassie, he told me we wasn't only a manger but was a wrestler of his era. Blew my mind. But then I realized Mr. Fuji had a wrestling past...started to figure out that perhaps many managers were ex-wrestlers lol. Million Dollar Man is an absolute classic character. One of the greatest bad guy characters of the late 80s. Such a backstory and excellent use of props. He'd wrap you up and put you in that Million Dollar Dream...nighty night.

The Living Legend Bruno Samartino was the longstanding announcer of the 80s. His son had a less than distinguished career. Too much pressure, I told him he should do something else he loves. That wrestling may not be the surest path to happiness.

Dude said Freddie Blasi, Bobo Brazil, Olympic Auditorium n shit.
