Trump flew 30 of us to Wisconsin We were instructed to vote 15 times each. He's a nice man, we all had coffee and donuts that day.

I don’t believe everyone should allowed to vote.
There should be some sort of voter qualification test. You have to know something about the person’s policy thoughts.
I don’t care how they end up voting. Conservative, Liberal... doesn’t matter...
I just want them to vote for something other than the fact she has a vagina or he looks good in a purple tie.
I vote to suppress the vote.

"So it's ok to force you to show ID to use your second amendment rights but it's not ok to force you to show your ID to use your voting rights? "
Have you ever voted you moron? It's the biggest pain in the ass ever. On par with the DMV. No one is going to go through that hassle to give their candidate one extra vote. LOL
Also guns can cause irreversible consequences. An extra vote, if you can even succeed in placing that second vote, can be corrected after the fact. A recount can be held to true up the vote.
Your argument is a false equivalency, DIPSHIT!

sigh....doesn't make sense to acknowledge losers.

How dare they make sure you are who you say you are!

I don't know about any of you fuck nuts that are clutching your pearls over this, but I've been asked to show ID every time I've voted.
I guess it's only a big deal when the state goes red instead of blue.

Voter suppression is an active GOP strategy in all the battleground states. It has been bragged about on tape by the head of the GOP in Pennsylvania. The strategy is twofold. First voter ID. But the way it works best and has been implemented is to make photo ID as difficult to get as possible for non drivers. The logic is impeccable. Someone who doesn't drive is likely to be poor. Poor are likely to vote Democratic. But I don't blame the loss on any of this. Voter suppression was well known. There was ample time and money to combat this Republican strategy either through the courts or by a more active voter registration effort. At the very least they could have obtained a court order allowing anyone to cast a provisional ballot and be verified and counted if the total provisionals were enough to change the outcome.
By the way you better imagine a lot more illegals voting in California. Clinton carried the state by at least a million.
Bottom line Democrats are lazy and Republicans are nefarious but clever.
Polls are showing that the Alabama senate race is a toss up. But there is no way Alabama will allow enough African American votes to send a Democrat to Washington unless the United Nations are allowed to send neutral observers. Voting machines will break in Birmingham. Voter ID's will be triple checked in Selma, causing three hour lines. Employers will "poll watch" in Mobile to intimidate Black voters. The GOP will retain the seat 60-40. Purple state GOP are just learning to suppress the vote. The South has it down pat.

Wow, at least the Dems are nice enough to wait until after you vote for Trump to beat your ass in public!

I have heard all of the arguments... and the number of legal voters without ID is miniscule.
I’m not sure why anyone would argue against matching a voter’s identity to their voter registration.
The democrats work very hard to get voters to the polls. Why not work hard to make sure their constituents have what they need to function effectively in society in 2017.
I’m guessing because getting them to the polls is a direct benefit for the party. Helping their constituents with long term solutions may not bring that same immediate benefit.
3 years to the next presidential election. That is a little bit of time to be proactive.

Like I said.
Every election I have voted in since I could cast a vote has had me show valid governmental ID here in California. I've never heard of a complaint of voter suppression here. Yet the same rules in a another state that could vote red are unjust. KS makes a good point. Instead of focusing on how these rules could be an obstacle, work on getting all these people the ID they need to function in modern society. I know people that don't have valid ID for various reasons. They are pretty much victimized when they are forced to live in the underground economy.

Just to add to everyone's comments
Most states require some form of identification to gain access to social programs.
If the argument is asking for ID is suppressing votes of the poor, how do these poor access the very programs that require identification to receive such benefits.
I have a different theory.
Citizens that have a vested interest in our democracy take the time to vote.
Those that need some sort of incentive to vote, most likely don't care about how our country operates to begin with. They most likely will accept any type of government as long as they aren't personally impacted, or their paychecks aren't effected.

Storm... that’s the point. To function in society... banking, social services, employment, healthcare etc... you have to have ID.
If I am a democrat.... I would be tru=ying to help people get IDs.... simply as a public service.

poor is not necessarily uneducated. Almost every non STEM or business majors have negative net worth coming out of college. College educated voters were majority democratic in 2016. Trump voters were mostly non educated white males who saw they're privilege slipping away. There are plenty of jobs for them now as long as they are willing to work for minimum wage and no benefits. It wont take more than a few years for these poor and uneducated to realize that the coal mines are not coning back and the high paying union factory jobs have been automated.
Then there are the chronically poor especially in the south. If you don't want Americans to vote unless they have a certain income just be honest about it. Jim crow was horrible but at least they had the guts to write it down.
If one had to have an advanced degree to vote there wouldn't be a Republican office holder above dog catcher in America.
