The Dodgers have have won 6 championships in their great history (1955, 1959, 1963, 1965, 1981, 1988). The 1963 or 1965 have long been considered the best teams in franchise history. With Koufax and Drysdale dealing, it's hard to argue that point. The 1963 Dodgers swept the Yankees and won 99 regular season games.
Both of the championships in the 80s saw the underdog Dodgers upset the American League behemoth.
I think it's safe to say that if the Dodgers continue their amazing play and close the deal on this championship, this 2017 will go down easily as the greatest team in franchise history. 104 regular season wins, and through 9 postseason games a purely dominate playoff performance.
Kershaw rewrote the first few chapters of his legacy last night, and after his next start the book will be complete. He'll be unarguably the greatest player to ever wear the beloved azul.
