Don't hold China up as a bastion of clean air and environmental conscience.
They are doing this because their people are actually dying due to pollution. It took them to get to an 'apocalyptic' level before they are now taking action.

No I am holding them up to show a failure in pollution control. How CA has been at the front of clean air rules for many years, but the neo cons keep griping about controls, so they should move to China. At least with China gov control they can shut things down right away as they did during the Olympics.

jillydaniels why don't you show me how it is done and remove yourself from the earth and I will study the results. Or how about routing your exhaust from your gas/diesel polluter into your cabin and breathe the "fresh" air you deserve. 40% of pollution in London is linked to diesel exhaust that the industry said for years was clean, sort of like trumpys clean coal!

The EPA tried to declare my neighbor's pool a navigable waterway. Fortunately it was discovered that the boats there were made from recycled plastic and used only wind power.

I was in China last year, this was the air in beijing.
Kudos to the Chinese government for mitigating this problem by moving away from fossil fuels, and are proponents of renewable energy - the exact opposite of the policies of the current US executive office.

Investment advice...anything that shoots, pollutes or directly benefits a Trumpy is a winner. Too bad I couldn't buy stock in the four employee firm that got the 400 million dollar no bid contract to rebuild the Puerto Rico power grid. The fact that the guy was the next door neighbor of the Secretary of the Interior had nothing to do with it. This administration is so corrupt they don't even bother to hide it any more.
