here was my experience there in 2014...
so, i am looking at hotels in dtla a couple nights ago. most are affordable until you park a car. ugh so i happen along a boutique-type of one that seems decent, price is right, and it doesnt say shit about parking. it is odd in that, some of the rooms have shared bathrooms. wtf? whatever, i choose one with a private path and book it.
i arrive about 5 am and find parking next door for 8 bux! im like cool, so far so good, right? i enter the lobby and it is bright, sort of hip, and feels ok. i check in, get the key, and head for the elevator. as usual, i always look for the camera and give a wave (hi mom) in case that is the last time i am seen. lol as i am looking up, out of the corner of my eye, i see someone else in the elevator. an asian lady. huh? i turn to look and no one is there. ok, must be the mirrors or that it is 5 am. the door opens and i step out. as i walk to my room, i get the weirdest vibe. not scary or anything, just strange. i get to my room, and enter, with the same vibe. i forget about it and go on about my business.
so, my person arrives (not sure if he wants to be named) and begins to tell me about all the cool buildings downtown and their histories. he starts telling me that this building used to be the shit, in the 20's, but in recent years, just turned to shit. lol he goes on to say that in recent months i may have heard about it in the news,. a few months ago they had found a young asian woman on the roof, dead in the water tank. well i almost choked as i had just brushed my teeth! he went on to say that the last time she was seen alive was the footage captured of her in the fucking elevator!!!
i am getting goosebumps just writing this shit. lol

Talked to a cop on the metro the other day and he told me they are reopening the case. Lots of unanswered questions like what happened to Lam's clothes - she was found nude. Apparently, she never checked out so what happened to her luggage? The cop told me there were a lot of shady people that worked there. And to add to SHE's story the body wasn't discovered until people complained about the water. On TV they interviewed a British couple who said they just thought that the water in America was like that.

@ Whitelight It is a good series. I had never heard of the place until I saw the show.
Pretty scary about the Asian girl. After seeing the show there is no way she got in that tank by herself and definitely think the investigation should be reopened.
@Ellen...your experience it pretty crazy! I could never stay there but would love to walk through the place.
