I’d like a pineapple please
I am your gift dahlia, and I got a pineapple for ya ☺️😂
eat at a mc donalds. pineapple is amazing.
go to roy's for drinks.
feed fish or snorkel at hanauma bay
hang out with locals at a local watering hole to hear great stories of stupid/crazy mainlanders. buy a local a drink and (s)he'll tell you where the locals dine for great cheap eats.
avoid pricey tourist traps like the pearl harbor or dole tour. oahu is cheap to get to but expensive to stay.
consider an island hopper to maui if you have the cash. if not, go to kauai to hike and see waterfalls.

Eat poke. Drink Kona coffee. Bring back macadamia nuts.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial is very moving. After all some people forget that place was America's first 911.
Dole plantation
Go scuba diving!!! Have fun
I second the Peal Harbor. Go see the uss Arizona memorial. And take the USS Missouri tour. See the start and end of America’s involvement in WWII.
Other than that, Honolulu seemed like a shithole compared to the other islands.

North Shore in the winter is great!

Go to the nearest volcano and jump in.

Diamondhead's view is a must see. Bring a small flashlight because climbing through the cavern it's very dark.

Waimea falls and botanical gardens are nice.
Halona Blowhole.
The luau (Germaine's) was sort of fun even though the one I attended the food was crap but the show was good. Do some research before booking a luau.
It was twenty five years ago I was there so I've forgotten a lot about my trip and a couple of things I can't post here.
ya gotta go to one popular luau while you are there especially if haven't gone to one

Staying for four days and gonna try to go to other parts(: can’t wait for the spam masubiis!!!!!❤️

Find local eatery and get Moco Locos for breakfast.
Headed back to big island in December.

so what do you have planned so far?
Papakolea Beach
There are only 7 places on earth that have green sand. This place is on the Southeastern part of the island. Once you park your car, you will have to hike about 3 miles. There are, however, locals that will charge 15 bucks to drive the 3 miles.
Punalu'u Beach
Is a black sand beach also on Southeastern part of island.
This one had more tourists on it, however.
I went last summer with my girlfriend and loved both beaches.

Look for some real Hawaiian music. See what is going on when you get there. There is always great music at Duke's in Waikiki in the evening. Also, the Veranda at the Moana Surfrider has a giant banyon tree that provides the canopy for the interior courtyard and music every night under the banyon, with the surf crashing just a few yards away and every so often the best slack key guitar players are there. And for god's sake spend a few hours before sunset at the Mai Tai Bar, which is outside on the boardwalk at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The hotel is a wonderful 19th century pink monument to western imperialism and I love sitting at that bar, sipping mai tai, people watching and imagining what is was like when ha-ole ran the island. You will never eat better pina, anywhere, so don't hesitate. Don't forget lots of shave ice. Everywhere. And don't be surprised if you run into some Aloha with Bad Attitude. The descendants of the natives hate everybody who is not one of them for fucking the place up. Can't really blame them.
