But really. Are there guys out in this world that go for that stuff? Does it stimulate ANY desire other than to put them on a leash and take them for a walk? Photoshopping yourself into a dog??

Call me crazy but I thought the photos were supposed to "draw us in........bring us closer......increase the desire to meet.......and appeal to our more basic interests".
Maybe a Basics 101 class should be required beforehand !!

Oh....and along with the crazy puppy dog additions to the photos they could do this.....
Make every other letter or number a capital......and insert lots of asterisks and stars and such. That would give their profile that polished "just published in Craigslist" look.

How about just be happy that a 19 year old gal wants to be friends with you in the first place.

It's not that 3 photos overpower the other 50. And it's not that I am primarily focused on those three.
Let me put it this way...... How about we pretend. We are trying to sell .......a car. We wash it, clean it up, make it look good, all in hopes of impressing those that look at the photos and might even an interest in buying the car.
Now as we scroll through the photos, we come across the ones with the bumper stickers, which are only a slight addition to the real deal. the bumper stickers can be peeled off and removed altogether but instead, the potential buyer gets to see those irritating political bumper stickers. Perhaps that may turn off the potential buyer........that's all I'm saying.
I just don;'t think anyone is doing themselves any justice by posting those shots. And yes, I like dogs BTW.

Fubar.....not really bothered by what little there has been. I was simply placing this out there for discussion (and whatever else happened along) for all of us intellectuals. With all the "I hate (insert political person) crap"......and a host of other topics, I thought this one could use another kick in the pants.
And to all of those that read this rant......thank you. To all of those that disagree with me....another thank you. Lest I forget one other group and that's those that feel the same as I do. Screw this group !!! LOL J/K.........

i kind of agree with op about the question: 'if the pictures are for advertising, do the girls really think that a puppy or kitten filter, or a flower head wreath will increase traffic?' i dunno. it doesn't do much for me. sure, some of these are cute but they just don't do much for me. but i also know that i'm not in the majority when it comes to targeting a marketing campaign. most advertising doesn't work well on me.
but i think it's the same thing when i see something on a girl's profile where she's talking about her favorite type of makeup, or brand of handbag, or shoe designer. yes, some men do bring gifts for the ladies. but i don't buy makeup and wouldn't care what brand is her favorite. same with shoes, handbags and designer dresses. i have nothing against gifts, mind you. but i find the universal gift (that is, $$$) much easier. (and from a purely self-centered standpoint, saves me having to go shopping - an activity i hate.)
i think the bottom line here is that some of the ladies aren't thinking of their profile from the standpoint of 'how can i get more dates?' but from the standpoint of 'i want to tell everyone about myself.' let's face it: not everyone here really understands marketing or how to increase business. and this shows in some of the profiles.
then again, the profiles do work. they get attention and probably a lot of pms and phone calls. so maybe i need to rethink how marketing works on -this site- as opposed to how marketing works 'in the real world.'
