I can't even blame a language barrier, it was a mental deficiency.
And for what it's worth, the gal that takes my order at my favorite taco place ALWAYS gets my order right the first time, and she is busy as fuck. Plus, she looks pretty good in the tight jeans she always wears. The only place I think I tip for drive thru or counter service

I totally love how many retail employees do not know how to make change.
If you try to give them a twenty and 3 cents on a $12.53 order AFTER they have entered it into the computer they are totally clueless what to do.

That's why the cash register calculates the change. It's pain in the _ss customers like you that give them extra change after they already put the amount paid into the register. It's your fault, not theirs.

If they are so stupid they cannot make change after entry into the cash register, they will definitely be replaced by a robot that can do the same thing they are doing....then they won't even be making minimum wage.
Just keep setting the bar lower and lower and you get a fucking low bar with piss poor employees.

I just want the person across the counter to have a half a fucking head on their shoulders and make change....if their employer hires such stupid people, I won't be going to their store for very long.
It is NOT too big an expectation that a retail person can actually make change. I guess we know that a minimum wage job is all they can handle if they can't make change.

It's not that simple...the hardest thing about making change is having to melt down that metal and pouring it into the molds...hot stuff.

I often get told I gave them too much when the bill is say $ 12.83 and you hand them $ 23.00....
Also don't like that no one knows how to count back change anymore they just drop a wad of bills in my hand stating it is $ 83.17 etc... damn not hard to count back from the total.
As far as food orders, I have avoided drive thrus for many years now. Closest is calling Holiday Burger in the morning with a breakfast burrito order...

had a client recently who was telling me horror stories about trying to hire some people. as part of the interview process, they ask them some math problems. like 12 + 7 = and they get answers such as 32. these are adults too, not high school kids. its so sad that thinking and math are a lost art.
