Good. They also cancelled a Nazi rally scheduled for their campus. The country is starting to realize that pro slavery war criminals should not have statues unless in a museum spelling out exactly what they were fighting for.

The Democrats would like to forget their history of supporting slavery. More importantly they want potential voters to forget it was the Union that supported the first Republican president in the war to end slavery. They can take down all of the statues of dead Democrats for all I care.

Yea, and it is the red states that keep getting dumber and sucking on the public assistance programs! And they love the man/woman only marriage vows, but have the highest divorce rates.

Hitler is part of history, should he have a statue?

wow kurtz read a report? By the way CA is one state, I am reviewing all US states nitwit. And CA more than carries its own weight as the largest economy. Here is a little red/blue state reading for you, : "If the red states and the blue states were separated into two countries, which country would be more successful? I took the 2007 Economic Census data plus some 2004 USDA numbers and sliced by the latest Red v Blue map. Then I roughly compared total sales in each industry type. It turns out blue states have more economic activity in everything except resource extraction. But those are absolute numbers, so I adjusted for relative strength, yielding the table above.
Even adjusted for size, the red states are only significantly stronger in agriculture, manufacturing, and resource extraction.
Given the way the last century has gone, that's a terrible position to be in. Blue states are much stronger in technology, media, finance, and education. If I had to place bets on how the 21st century will go, I'd definitely be in one of those industries. So I think the red states as a separate country would do even worse than today's GDP numbers would indicate." https://www.quora.com/If-the-red-states-and-the-blue-states-were-separated-into-two-countries-which-country-would-be-more-successful-Why

You guys should really read the whole thing. They aren't destroying the statues they're moving them into an indoor museum, the same museum that they moved the statue of jefferson davis.
DR I'd say the debate is: in order to have 'Free Speech' you have to be able to be tolerate those screaming at the top of their lungs what you would/have spent your whole life fighting against.
That's the 'problem' with America, it's extremely tough. I order to have a free society it can't be selective, it MUST be everyone including disgusting views that most of the population hates.
There's also the argument that the US shouldn't be afraid to look at it's past, no matter how incredibly ugly or disgusting it might have been.
Btw a statue of hitler cowering in a corner of his bunker with a gun in his mouth and blowing his brains out before the allies could get to him would be one I would like to see.

Can we do a concentration camp for beaners ?

Rewrite history and taking down statues are very different things. People do the latter all the time - since Moses got the ten commandments. You think you have the better judgment than the president of Texas University?
If you want to take down something that's still there, I'm all for you protesting them. Just don't look like an idiot.
