if the moon disappeared, the earth would certainly survive. life on earth may not survive, but the planet itself would.

the moon also acts a a small shield, blocking some asteroids from hitting the earth. not many, but some.
but that thing about 'nothing to reflect sunlight back to the earth making the skies white?' i think that's wrong. the blue tint to the sky is a result of the refractive properties of the atmosphere bending the light rays like a prism. so nothing to do with the moon. the moon's surface is mostly aluminum, which is why it look so white- it's reflecting white light. it's not reflecting blue light back to the earth...
hmmm.... this isn't some lame dog-whistle politics code for "white reign" I hope... like fringe groups that used to communicate through coded classified ads in newspapers or those numbers radio stations...
