The US is a plurality right wing country by electoral college and the moronic way the senate and the house apportions votes. South Dakota has the same number of senators as California. The House of Representatives can be Gerrymandered to ensure minorities get the minimum representation possible. The other fact that will allow the Oligarchs (GOP) to continue to rule is that the Majority of Americans continue to believe in the man in the sky will take care of them. The Oligarchs support this belief that keeps the lower classes focused on their soul rather than their worldly condition. The one thing that will bring Trump down isn't Russia or his Racism. It will be failing to pass the one and only part of tax "reform" that the Oligarchs care about. Specifically the GOP MUST repeal the Estate tax. This is the one and only tax the rich are now obligated to pay. I'm not talking about the Mayweather or even Tom Brady rich. I am talking about the 100 or so families that control the GOP.
Every GOP politician from Trump to Pence to Kasich have been trained to call this the "death tax". This is to make stupid Americans believe its a tax on Grandma's casket. Actually its a fairly substantial tax that kicks in after roughly $5.6 Million. Anything less than 5.6M pays nothing. If your estate is worth 6.6 you pay on the 1M you are over. Spouse are excepted and no tax is due until the spouse dies as well. This tax provides about 15% of the total revenue. Multi billionaires hate it as it is the only thing that can threaten the top 100's absolute hold on the government. The GOP will push this cut above all others possibly "reforming" your taxes to eliminate deductions such as for mortgages and health care. I think the "charitable" deduction will never end. Thus the US tax payers will continue to support the Church of Scientology and the rest. The GOP will do ANYTHING to get this passed.
If somehow the populace really turns on the GOP, the Russians have enough hacking power to turn a few close races the way they need. It will be incredible watching how many seats are won by the GOP in 2018 by a percent or less. Their sophistication will be awesome !
