If your friends don't remember or never had access to their pw's or recovery email, there's nothing they can do to save that profile. All they can do is start a new profile, get reestablished or prove it's them in the new profile and ask that their old profile be voted off.

I wouldn't stand in her way. Her history is not the best. A new profile would be at least the third account she's had here and she's had issues involving the first two.
