I certainly dont have all the answers.
I agree Trump is an absolute asshole, I wouldn't want to spend 5 min. with him. But we have to be able to separate the man from his policies. I like most of what he is doing.
Conversely, Obama is a seemingly calm, professional and in control man. If I was invited to the white house for a beer with Obama I'd gladly accept (As long as there were no pictures  ). But I've never known a US president that I disagree with more when it comes to his policies.
I'll never be able to convince you, or anyone else. But if you dont see the problems as discussed in the memo then, Well.... I should have done what I normally do when I see a political blog, and dont even bother to read them.
For the first time in my adult life I didn't place a vote for either candidate in 2016. So no I didn't vote for Trump.

I don't agree with most of the republicans policy...no matter who the president is. It is just a sad fact we have a compulsive liar as Commander in Chief who is trying to run from justice. Along the way he is discrediting our Intelligence agencies...and the Republican party is supporting it. Not a good way to protect the country

So the FBI wanted a warrant on Carter Page. The Russians were trying to recruit him back in 2013. Making sure the Russians didn't succeed in 2016 makes sense. The dossier is the only vehicle to get a new warrant but it is unverified and not corroborated by any independent source and the FBI knows that the DNC and Hillary funded it. Disclosing that information would likely have caused denial of warrant again (it was denied before) so the FBI fails to disclose that information.
Did the FBI do some shady stuff? Yes but I don't think it's atypical when LE really needs the warrant
Does it change any investigations in process? Nop

The original opposition research by the republicans was stopped before Steele added the meat to the effort which led to the warrant. The original work is not relevant with regard to the information in the released memo today.
Opposition research is part of the effort in every political campaign.

@ Skittles and TypeA4play....your are right. I misspoke...The Dossier was not funded by the Free Beacon. They were the original funder for the anti-Trump opposition research project with Fusion GPS.
However....The Memo they released today Actually states "The Papadopoulos information TRiggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late july of 2016"
This memo seems to confirm that the Steele dossier wasn't trigger for the Russia investigation rather that the FBI started the investigation due to information about George Papadopoulos.
Regardless...The Memo was a fail for what their intentions were.
