Any Gap Band Fans in the house ?
I'm yearning for your love baby
Never ever had a Lover put the pedal to the metal, and burn rubber on me...
Don't miss that train...
So I gotta get up early in the morning, find me another Lover
GAP = Greenwood , Archer & Pine ...
Tulsa Oklahoma
Fan here...
I love the gap band!!!
I dance to them all the time!!!
I used to dance to burn rubber almost every night,
and then I sat down and listened to the lyrics...
Thought it was so funny in the strip club
Now, you'll have me singing early in the morning all night (its probably my favorite)
Stay with me, forever won't you stay with me, I'll satisfy your fantasy, you and me - Stay With Me
For you ArtnJazz
@ LemonCrush - You Go Girl Get your vocals on
Awesome band! Won't find that anymore, but still listening to it in 2018.
Overshadowed by artists such as :
Michael Jackson
Prince
Earth Wind & Fire
Kool & The Gang
Commodores
But definitely a force that helped shaped the music of the 80's
Charlie Wilson – Lead vocals, piano, synthesizer, clavinet, organ, drums, percussions
Ronnie Wilson – Vocals, trumpet, flugelhorn, piano, synthesizer, percussion, songwriter
Robert Wilson (1957-2010) – Bass, guitar, percussion, vocals
Never did a DJ spin a Gap Band song that didn't pack the dance floors
Knockoffs to the Gap Band sound ...
Another knockoff of the Gap Band sound :
Guy with - I Like
Guy with - Let's Chill
Keith Sweat with - I'll give all my love to you
Your body's callin' baby
Tony Terry - With You
Dedicated to a special friend ...
Gerry Woo - How Long
A ton of artists just couldn't resist the Gap Band sound...
Johnny Kemp - Just got paid
Only you can make me happy baby
Happy - Surface
That R. Kelly song gets girls pregnant Pete.
I had this one girl tell me to never listen to him, but she loved his music.
Thanks for the video post on the 'Bomb'
R Kelly lit that song up
Could perhaps be one of the greatest slow jams of all time
Another artist who loved the Gap Band and wanted some of their sound to his own music...
Shake you down - Gregory Abbott
I love your taste in men Pete!
The black family that raised me in East LA didn't have any issues.
How come you honkys like to listen to black/soul music, but still hate on us.
Jungle booty
Gap Band. An oldie but goodie...
How come you honkys like to listen to black/soul music, but still hate on us
As Paul Mooney said "everybody want to be a N*gga but don't nobody want to be a N*gga"

Fubar, two different words buddy, that's two different words!!!!
To thineself be true.
Don't try to be anyone else.
Don't work.
The Gap Band just had those beats and hooks that made you want to dance, regardless
of any physical or social trait... A true crossover band, everyone loved them and the Gap Band's music
inspired many artists to emulate portions of their sound...
NYC's D-Train was inspired by the Gap Band, and emulated the sound of the Brothers Wilson
Even " The Whites " were knocking off the Gap Band sound
Hall & Oates - Method of modern love ...
I am not racist nor do I discriminate, I love white guys ♥
Ok? OK!
