they fucked with my lil game of counting on my fingers how many I was aware of while they were alive...if I don't get to ten i can't jerk off for 3days...i have yet to be under ten, but they almost fucked me this year cutting the shit short

Hey gents...what's the rush? It was like 3.5 hours long. Plenty of opportunities to walk about, stretch and pass the time. An NFL game takes 4 hours. The show got an 18.9 rating, so you don't have to watch, plenty of others across the country are.

they need to also work with the tv providers to block off enough time to get it recorded...think we went over by 30min and it wasn't even close...had the next show going also, but the shit was not even close to the scheduled time

I moderately enjoyed the show...my big complaint is Jimmy Kimmel and his schtick. Just not overly down with Kimmel. It'd be great if there was someone new next year.

I dunno why exactly Burns, but you can see by the two Oscar 2018 blogs on HX, there is a huge amount of animosity directed at the entire film industry.
IMO as a longtime academy awards guy, this was a horrible year for top movies and the nominees had no swag, no cache...a buncha nothing.
Next year if there is some top tier talent and big time stars...an LDC, perhaps B Pitt in the house or his ex-wife...we'll see a rating back in the 20s.
The academy would be wise to nominate Black Panther and some other blockbuster to ensure more interest. I have quite a few tweaks I'd implement were I involved with the broadcast. Because it's consistently a disappointing telecast.
It's a boring show at times, we all know that. Go mix a drink. Prepare a snack. Flip the channel for a minute...lord knows I did a few times. I still think it's a decent three hours spent on a Sunday evening.

Long boring telecast with a host who is far too impressed with himself and his humor, a political soap box for many, and a break your arm patting yourself on your own back slobber fest for the rest. Quite honestly a mediocre bunch of movies that wouldn't even get nomination consideration 10 years ago based upon quality.
The movie makers are so caught up in making movies that will sell well in the international market that they are not really focused on quality and just good old fashioned entertainment.
