Wake me up when there's real news.
(Sherman to 49ers caught my attention)
Bo back to Oakland...
That's simple Fisher, my friend. We're all in on our guy Joshua Rosen. His name sounds Armenian, doesn't it?

Chiefs agree to terms with Sammy Watkins

For those that understand the game is won and lost in the trenches, the best OL available this off season, Andrew Norwell, signed with the Jaguars.
Dude went from being an undrafted rookie with the Panthers in 2014 to being the highest paid guard in NFL history. 256 guys taken in the NFL draft that year, and he wasn't one of them. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something...

For those that understand just how terrible a deal the players association made several years ago are not surprised that the highest paid guard in NFL History makes about half the salary of a below average QB.
The game sure don't pay like it's won or lost in the trenches lol...I'd suggest it does the exact opposite. Have you ever scrutinized the highest salaries in the league? It's like 20 QBs, Antonio Brown, N Suh, Justin Houston, Von Miller and E Ansah. That's it. No one else makes a damn thing.
QB 27.5 million per season Jimmy Garroppolo
RB 14.5 LeVeon Bell 😥😰
OL This new dude Norwell...like a smidge over 13.25 which was the salary of previous leader Okung.
Pretty much any decent qb makes 24-28 million. All the other lightweights try to make it work. The average career is less than four seasons.
Jimmy G 28, Julio Jones 14, Stafford 27, LeSean McCoy 8, Derek Carr 25, Rob Gronkowski 9, Andrew Luck 24.6, Luke Kuechly 12.4
They wanted more free time, less practice time and took the worst deal in sports, maybe sports history.

Thank you for the heartfelt post Mr GimmerTwin...but it's well known that my football knowledge is second to none. I likely forgot more about the game than most here will ever learn.

(cough, cough,cough)

Kirk Cousins will be the highest-paid player in NFL history...with minn. 3/86m fully-guaranteed
Starfish, take a look at these attached links. The salaries in the NFL are ridiculous in terms of the disparity between QBs and all other positions.
i look in a bit...going thru a lil depression as these salaries are f ing up the cowboys...hitchens signed for up to 9million a year...think we wanted to pay like 6...dez is not taking a pay cut with those WR given out and zack will be first guard over 15million? boys are fked
we need to go back to no salary cap...we should be able to compete at that point
think i need to hit CB damit

If I were Dez, I'd not take a dollar less than what the contract called for. Not a damn cent.
How many years does Dez really have as a premier player? Not many I'd guess...the money is gonna start to be real in a few years, better grab it all.

My contacts are telling me that Green Bay will release Jordy Nelson after ten seasons with the team.
I like Allen...think Wentz success makes him easier to select for a GM.
Our guy Rosen is better than Darnold IMO. Baker Mayfield is a shmendrick.
That guy is always getting hit hard. I'm surprised he is still playing after 10 years.
Not a fan of GB but that's a good pick up.

The NFLPA negotiated the disparity in salaries among its members.
They could be a "classic union" where everyone gets paid the same (at least the same pay with the same years of service), but they chose not to.
Can't blame the owners for the disparity among the players. For a team at the salary cap maximum (which is many of the teams), the owner will pay the same whether all 53 players get the same or if 1/2 the salaries are tied up on 6 players.
The NFL players get the best of both worlds; they get the protection of being in a union and yet they get to negotiate contracts as individuals.
I agree that the CTE / concussion concerns are likely affecting the "pipeline". I'm all for the rules that protect players safety. I'm against the Goodell rules to run up the scores to satisfy the subset of those watching who are solely fantasy football geeks and know nothing about the game.

football has always been a frenzy
this did happen to be the slowest mlb signing season...teams are getting smart...very few big contracts have panned out?
Seems to me there have been a lot more trades and big money QB signings this year than most past ones.

Gents...attached links for context to your discussion regarding 2017 and 20/8 FA class.

An interesting idea for a movie 🎥 Thought to be deceased the legend returns to the community he created and returns it to it's past glory.

ScoreMobile was just kind enough to text me...they say OAK is desperately trying to acquire Jordy Nelson.
Buckle your seat belts and sharpen your pencils, things are getting busy.
The almost Las Vegas Raiders made some commanding moves...Jordy Nelson and Doug Martin in and Michael Crabtree out. Liked Crabby's hands but Jordy Nelson cannot be covered.
Just Win Baby

No, not tree15 Do not tell me that tree15 is done in OAK.
I hate to see the Crabs go, he was great in Oakland. Jordy is going to be great for the the little pass over the middle.. Lets hope he stays healthy.

Sherman is on the last 3 on the back 9.
His contract is bigly built on incentives.
I’ll bet you Seattle goes right at him.
I think Sherman is very near the end of his career. Sure he's motivated...but his body may not cooperate.
Had a discussion about Compton's own RS with my learned brother this weekend. After a deep statistical dive, we decided that Sherman's peak was 2012-2014.
His last two seasons we see a drop traditionally associated with the end of a player's career. I'd suggest it's a bit of a gamble for SF, but not huge risk because of the contract. If the motivation proves to overcome his bodies aging process, then SF might get one nice season and a payoff on their gamble. He's a likely 2019 cut.
