Phew it works now. But there he is again, yapping up a storm about what's on later.

I had Sling a couple years back, but it was very unreliable compared to other streaming services. I wonder if it has gotten any better, kept hoping it would improve before I finally just cancelled it.

Playstation Vue has been Horrible for me! Constantly loading/buffering!

Looking to end cable as well, any reliable sources you smart folks recommend?

I’ve got some time off in a few weeks and I’m installing an OTA HD antenna then cutting cable
A lot of people like Kodi. I prefer Terrarium TV. I’ll probably add a steaming service for some live channels, but I may try live without for awhile.

streamsmart is very good.

"You need to cover your tracks if you use Kodi the way most people do."....why is that? And how?

I think some people may be a little paranoid.

Seems were all screwed soon, if the established internet services get their way.
How long before they totally cut our access to anything but their services.
Tenant pays for cable currently (Direct TV) w/ ATT cable. I still binge on Kodi Movies and Shows once in a while. But then once caught up what is there really to watch?

live sports, any movie or show that was pretty much ever made.

Welcome to "Cutting the Cord"!! Welcome to the Revolution!!
BEST decision I ever made was getting rid of cable tv 8 years ago.
I have heard good things about Roku.. But have never tried it.
( Presonally I BitTorrent most tv show and use YouTube for news programs and independent video makers that I like to watch.)
Most people could probably get away with just a normal tv antenna (for local channels broadcast in HD) and NetFlixs.
There are tone of cord cutting advice (just google it).
You'll SAVE tons of money and probably have a calmer tv watching experience :^).

I've had Pluto on my streaming service for over a year and neve had a problem.

"No commercials when streaming on Netflix, Hulu, CBS, HBO, Showtime, Starz and shows purchased from iTunes."
That adds up to about $60-$70/month. Just not worth it.
Hulu has commercials, which is why I'm about to get rid of it. CBS has commercials, at least for anything I ever wanted to stream. HBO, Showtime, and Starz usually just don't have enough good movies to justify the cost. Even if you like their original programming, you can binge through the seasons pretty quick.

I never saw Pluto until yesterday when it uploaded itself to my smart TV. For some reason the sound goes up and down on some of the apps (I only watch on my smart TV). It did with AT&T uverse too, and had to run the troubleshoot almost daily to fix it. Hulu doesn't have that problem, so it's my favorite to watch.
I miss cable already though, because I can't watch some shows without paying more. It's $9.99 for Netflix, $11.99 Hulu and $55 sling (blue/orange/cloud/4 extras pkg). So $77 for TV and $60ish for internet. I'm saving maybe $50 or so a month from what they raised it to. When Hulu live TV has DVR, I will switch to that and drop sling if it's a reasonable price. Sling is slow and I don't really like it.
It's ridiculous the price gouging going on just to watch decent TV. An antenna won't work here. Do they get ratings on shows we don't watch Live? CBS sucks for charging extra, hope their ratings took a plunge. I do miss Big Bang and a few others. LOL

I use an OTA HD antenna & Apple TV. But I also have a DirecTV subscription but it’s basic. At least with Apple TV, you need a cable TV (or satellite) subscription to watch some things. E.g., CNNgo app will frequently ask me to enter an activation code & then login to my DirecTV account before the app will work.
What works for you, as far as successfully cutting the cable cord, I think depends on what you like to watch. I’m a news junkie and don’t watch sitcoms or things like that.
I’m still looking for the right combination so I can get rid of DirecTV for good.
Consumer Reports had an article about 3 months comparing different options for cutting the cable cord. You might be able to read it via Google.
P.S. my DirecTV is at a different location than where I normally watch TV, in case there was any confusion.
