The funniest part is that Time denied Trump's statement.
They never told him he would probably win the award.
It will be interesting to see who does win it, and how long Trump publicly holds a grudge.
I hope it's that mayor from Puerto Rico.
Trump apparently doesn't understand what the award means, anyway.
Putin won in 2007. Gorbachev won twice.
The Ayatullah won in 1979.
Nixon won in the year of Watergate.
Stalin won twice.
And Hitler won once.

According to Time, the award goes to βthe person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worseβ.
It isn't a Nobel prize.

And President Trump should win it in mho for good.

There's certainly a case to be made for Trump based on the extent to which he fulfilled his campaign pledges.
1. He didn't build the wall. That is good for America. He gets a point.
2. He didn't drain the swamp. So that's not good. No help there.
3. He didn't repeal Obamacare. That is good for America. He gets another point.
4. He didn't balance the federal budget. That's not good. No help there.
5. He didn't block immigration. That is good for America. He gets another point.
6. He didn't release his tax returns or sue the women who accused him of assault. Who cares?
7. He didn't defeat ISIS. That doesn't really affect America. So who cares?
8. He didn't shut down the internet so that ISIS can't use it. That is good. He gets a point.
9. He didn't introduce a constitutional amendment to impose term limits for Congress. Who cares?
10. He didn't create libel laws that make it easier to sue the press. That is good. He gets a point.
11. He didn't bring back waterboarding. That is good. He gets another point.
12. He didn't give us tax deductions for health care premiums. Fuck that guy. That sucks.
13. He didn't do this: "Everybody is getting a tax cut". Fuck him.
14. He didn't ensure that only American steel is used by US government. That is good. He gets a point.
15. He didn't declare China a currency manipulator. That is good. He gets another point.
16. He didn't forego vacations in order to accomplish his agenda. That is great. He gets another point.
17. He didn't end America's involvement in Middle Eastern warfare. That is good for America. Like conservatives always say, big government with plenty of taxing and spending bolsters the economy.
On the whole, his failures have helped America.

Didn't the orange beaver also say he was going to be tough on crime? Seems like we have had a lot more mass shootings this year than in before trumpy years. Only 600 or so homicides in Chicago, likely top last years record killings.
