How much it cost ???
Dr. Butchko in riverside is very vert cheap. About 40% less than any other vet in OC or La. last year I spent a whole day on yelp calling around, I ended up doing a surgery on my dogs paw and it came out amazing. They also said they would do a payment plan due to the life threatening situation

It's supposed to be around a thousand dollars. I've been to two vets so far that I feel just too my money on the grounds of "emergency",office visit because of the holidays. I did start a go fund me. She's just dying while I try to find a solution. I've been working on my credit for past year but it's not good enough to qualify for the pet insurance loan. I'm in the high desert.

Well ya know, just about anything. I can cook clean and...... No but seriously . This is breaking my heart not to be able to help her right now.
I'm seriously just sitting here watching her every breath. I ki know I shouldn't be doing that, but im afraid to leave her by herself. Anyway though, thankyou for your responses. Even the surgery for dummies. One of my best friends actually suggested that to me . But he's a little crazy at times.

She may live longer without the surgery. In the meanwhile shrinking the tumor. Feed her alkaline

ProstateSpecialist - how do you feed someone alkaline?

I'm sorry. For your dog, not you.
You're a 41 year old woman, on this site, and you don't have $1,000 in some sort of savings? I hope you find a way to help your dog if you love him so much. But in the event you do lose him,
PLEASE DON'T GET ANY MORE PETS THAT HAVE TO RELY ON YOU!
OP, I wish you and your dog luck and hope you find a solution that’s best for her. In the meantime, please grab the largest mango you can find and chuck that shit at ProstateSpecialist as hard as you can. You’re welcome.

Dr_Strangelove sounds like a cross between Weinstein and Bill Clinton.
We're putting JackDaniel's up for adoption...he's a cuddlier pooch when he's not drinking...so they tell me.

Switching your dog to alkaline water and putting her on a raw diet are the two main ways a dog's body can be brought into alkaline balance -cancer cells and tumors thrive and grow in a more acidic environment. When the level of acid is lowered, tumors grow much more slowly.
Contrary to popular beliefs, all biologic systems work within a very narrow pH range, and have biochemical systems to maintain that specific pH for proper enzymatic functions and such.
Therefore, one cannot change the pH, i.e. alkalinity by drinking alkaline water – this is a rather medieval concept.

animals are frigging expensive
if the dog can be healthy after the surgery you probably need to get it done

You won't convince the stupid. It's been tried.
I believe you're correct, Martha - judging by the current state of the Union.

Years ago.... got my son a puppy. Humane Society was doing a parking lot sale thing. $70.00. Included the dog, license, shots, Spay/neuter.
Had him about a month. He got sick. Took him to the vet. Vet said it would be about $650.
I came home without the dog. My son asked what rhe vet said.
“He said we get to get a new dog.”
In the meantime, don't feed it meat. Cancer cells increase when you eat meat.
How old is your dog? If your dog is old, this could be one of many tumors to come. I know how difficult it is to let go of an animal that has been your family for a long time but you need to think about the quality of life for the animal.
Have you tried to negotiate or pay via a payment plan? I had a colleague whose dog needed an operation. The vet told him it would cost $800. My colleague responded he couldn't pay that. Vet came back with how about $500?
Doesn't hurt to ask. Tell them you can't afford $1000 and see if they can work with you.

Im so sorry to hear that . What a sad situation

N2K!!! You speak Alkaline! Yesss!!!
You can stall and give your body time to heal, just by alkalizing the body!!!! Eating non acidic foods!!!
DTFAgent is correct. Your kidneys work very hard to maintain blood pH at 7.35-7.45. Drinking or ingesting acidic or alkaline substances to change that pH only makes your renal system strain to maintain that narrow range of homeostatic pH by turning to other body structures to obtain buffering substances to return your pH to the normal range.
OP, let me give you some homemade recipes that helped shrunk my doggies tumors. My dog got to live over 20! Please text me! I’ll make doggie food for her.
Well the kidneys also works hard breaking down proteins, yet many still eat unnaturally. Many prostate issues are from high protein intake! No one seems to connect kidney issues with their diet and the consumption of female hormones w cheese/dairy (messing w adrenals/endocrine). Jeeeeze.
Also alkaline water is not how u make the body alkalized. Alkaline water does not work together w Korean BBQ, Mexican or Filipino food!!!!

Please be nice, guys. Dogs & cats are like members of the family. They can be such loyal creatures that give us great comfort.

A surgery like that is likely to cost min $1,500 and perhaps even $3,000 when all is said and done. Most Vets want 50% up front and then the balance paid when you pick up your dog from the Vet. Cost is generally the procedure and all the meds that need to be given during plus any overnight stay, etc.
I've been through a surgery event before with a dog and if you think if them as a "family member", then you will do the right thing.
Hope it all works out for both of you.
