1) The Republican tax plan now allows churches to endorse and promote political candidates. Highly religious people are overwhelmingly Republican.

2) The Republican tax plan taxes free tuition that graduate students receive. To reduce utilization of a service or product, tax it. There will be fewer people receiving advanced degrees. The more educated a person, the less likely they will vote Republican.

The new tax bill just increased the likelihood that it will be easier to get elected if you’re a Republican.

1. Since 1954 churches have been recieving non-profit status (501c3). You can count the instances on one hand where that status was taken away because of political endorsements.... and not because churches don’t endorse.
They are creative in how they do it. A. They invite candidates to “visit” they choose to endorse. B. They pass out voter information booklets to their congregants (those are often prepared by a 3rd party organization (not the church or the candidate or the sponsor of a ballot initiative). That document says, These are the issues important to us. This is what we believe about these issues. Here are where these candidates stand on these issues.

2. Business owners are “overwhelmingly” undereducated. They have bachelor Bergen’s or less. They are are also average or below average students. Not because they aren’t bright... but because their head isn’t in the classroom.
Those with advanced degrees finish school and then look for someone to pay them for what they have learned. That is usually the guy who dropped out of college to start a business. Those in the middle ground (finish college as an average student) usually end up in mid level management.
That is where the old adage comes from....

The B students will teach the A students how to work for the C students.

A recent article in The Journal for Computer Science and Technology outlined 65% of Silicon Valley hires are of people without Computer Science degrees. That is up from 37 percent in 2012.
The pendulum is swinging back the other way.

Wait, you mean the republicans did something that will make it easier for them to be re-elected? How dare they.

Good thing the democrats never did that. sheesh.

Wow, some of you still believe the old trope: college = educated.

There exist other avenues of learning then going in debt to be in a classroom for X hours a day.

Computer science degrees are overrated. I have met quite a few with CS degrees that think they know everything.*

Computer book/lab = real world environment is false.

It dosnt take a MBA to run a business. I have met some serious dumb asses with successful businesses. I have also met dumb asses with MBAs*

*Anecdotal evidence.

Probably more relevant for the other thread but no more education credits, no more c care credits, no more tuition deductions, no more deducting student loan interest, no more deducting classroom expenses, no more deducting medical expenses, no more deducting PMI, no more deducting state and local taxes, $400 billion in cuts to Medicare. College bound students, teachers, homeowners, the elderly, the sick, and the poor all just got screwed. Which category do you all fall into?

Not really. He asked a question. I answered it. I choose to keep my life simple. No kids, no mortgage, I am healthy with good affordable insurance (through work of course).

Papa john is a pathetic dipshit who'll die terrified and alone. This has nothing to do with politics.

We're all fucked.

Enjoy Arbys.
