I don’t think he should have resigned.... even though he was recieving pressure from his side, he should have let the ethics committee finish investigating.
....but he is the sacrificial lamb so that the Dems can continue to go after Trump.
Since there is no real political sacrifice here... it’s hard to tell if this is a real gesture towards “justice” or simply political expedience.
The real test would be if this happened to Brown in Ohio, Casey in Pennsylvania or Nelson in Florida.
How would they act if the Govorner were a republican and could pic the replacement ... and if the Repubs had a real shot at the seat in the next election.

So... to be clear.... I lean to the right.... but I think it’s bullshit.
All these resignations are bullshit.
People should be allowed to decide who represents them. If Minnesotans want a booby grabbing, kiss stealing senator.... they should have that choice.
If Alabamans want a guy who 30 years ago liked to legally date girls half his age... they should.
If Americans decide they want a guy who thinks grabbing a cooter is acceptable behavior.... they should be allowed.
Franken being pushed out is bullshit.
I do think Conyers had to go.... but only because he used tax money to hush victims.

Senator Al Franken should not have given in to the Lynch Mob.
He should have held his ground and demanded Dou Process.
A Senate Ethics Investigation would take time and probably would not
call for his removal from office.
IF he was brilliant, he would have left the Democratic Party and become
an Independent. He would then be positioned to call out the BULL$HlT
of BOTH Parties.
But Al Franken went out like a LiL' Bitch... Arghhh.

He gave himself an escape clause. He said he would resign "in the coming weeks."
It's possible that if Roy Moore is not elected, Franken will not resign. If Moore is elected he will follow through with the resignation to put pressure on the GOP to oust Moore if he is elected.
