Just saw that as well. Strange decision by the mercurial Japanese superstar. I know you like the ole California Angeles, but what in the fuck is that guy thinking? You're in the right area, just needed to get up that I5...fuck, or down that I5 would be a superior choice.

Figured he was going to the Rangers this whole time. When it was announced that they were out, I was confused, but quickly gathered myself and thought azul.
I truly do not understand it. I'm not hating, but why no azul? Why no yanks? Why no cubs? The Angels surprise me. But congrats to you and your everlasting search and your baseball club.

How come MLB teams don't have great names like Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters?
What about San Fran Sourdough Ball Boys? catchy huh?

I tried to tip toe around that, but leave it to Jack...

Yaaasss! GO ANGELS!

This moribund franchise needs all the help it can get to remain relevant. I would hope that a follow up to this signing will be the firing of Mike Scoscia who's stale reign as manager needs to come to a close. They picked up Shohei for a very cheap price due to market rules, they owe it to the fans to shore up the other massive holes in the roster and try to get the best player in baseball, Mike Trout, into the playoff conversation.

Wasn't that Arte Moreno's platform when he arrived here? That didn't last long, it costs a fortune to make the current Angels watchable.

I've heard the fire the manager chants for a good two or three seasons. And I do understand in some way where that thinking is rooted. He's been the manager since '01. The last few seaosns the team hasn't made the playoffs. But I'd implore you to look at his record each season, the talent on the club and decide if the reason the Angels failed to be playoff team could be attributed to poor managing. Because I've done just that, and quite recently. I'd suggest that the manager is not the problem. I think it has more to do with the players.
Long live the great '82 Angels team...the first team I followed in my long sports history. 1B Carew; 2B Grich (Long Beach's own); SS Burelson / Schofield (Dick Schofield realted to Jayson Werth); 3B Doug DeCinces; LF Brian Downing; CF Freddy Lynn; RF Reggie Jackson; C Bob Boone; DH Don Baylor

Growing up going to Dodger games I was a big Scioscia fan, I like him now as a person and respect him as a manager, I just think it would be better for both parties to have a change of scenery. New blood, fresh ideas, excitement, etc, etc. I would root for Mike wherever he ended up, it's just gone on too long.

Mike Scoscia is the problem! When does a manager take accountability? He's had great player, and he makes poor choices...Time to go, Mike !

Angels don't have the muscle like they did when won the World Series.

Kinsler is relatively affordable and a great upgrade. I hope they make a play for 3B Mike Moustakas who is a Chatsworth guy and a leader like an Anthony Rizzo is with the Cubs, they need that, as well as another starter.
like him...not sure what we gave up yet though? info should be coming soon
angels were kicking tires on every avail 2b...trade prices were the sun and moon for some of the younger cost controlled targets
yep...exciting times
not hard to plug the three holes we had for past three years...LF, 3b and 2b averaged close to mendoza line offensively
not quite done yet...he reportedly waived his no trade...other teams upping the ante for a trade?
well here you go
YAY! Now only one more hole to fill...
Moustakas would be cool but supposedly his asking price is more than they want to pay. What should they do with the rotation? They had so many injuries last year it's hard to gauge how good they really can be.
