My mother's medical insurance has been revoked, and currently there is no way to get her the medication she needs and she's not doing well. I understand this is a long shot, but I'm hoping to find someone willing to help me get Ipratropium Bromide for copd.

On a side note, good luck to all those effected by all the flames 🙏 🙏

Xoxox Thx

Some people can't get on medi-cal though. I've lots of people slip through the cracks just because they have a little too much money to qualify.

Firkins is right. Her MediCal was revoked because her small business started bringing in a few hundred dollars more a month.
I've already got a few ideas, thanks to everyone who's responded.

If she’s bringing in a extra few hundred per month, have her purchase a few extra hundred dollars worth of supplies/goods so any new income is offset by new costs.

1st question - does she have a prescription

if she does, call around to every pharmacy and ask for their best price, it's usually a lot less than the list price

“Keiser is really good I heard.”

You heard right. But please spell my name correctly. Misspelling might allow people now... or those who search blogs in the future to miss this. I put a lot of time, money and energy into my marketing.

Please respect that.

On another note... I have used Canadian online pharmacies in the past with very good results.

It’s pretty easy with a valid prescription. Have her tell her Dr she has to shop for her medication so she needs a paper prescription. Dr s usually want to send a digital prescription directly to the pharmacy... but you can still get paper on request.

You don't need to be a member of Costco to use the pharmacy.

Someone mentioned GoodRx, and I'll 2nd that one. If she already has a prescription, then she can use that site to print out coupons. It'll even give you a list of pharmacies in your area and tell you the cost for each one. It's best to call the pharmacy ahead of time to let them know you've got it, it'll go faster when you pick it up and they can verify the price over the phone.

Also, pharmacies will let you do partial fills, i.e. if you have a prescription for 3 inhalers to last 3 months, you can pick up one at a time so you don't have to pay for it all at once. It's a little trickier for inhalers since you can't split those up, but I've done it before where I pay for a single dose of migraine medication at a time. LOL I'm sure it annoys the hell out of them but... shit's expensive and I don't have insurance so they can just deal with it.

She can also ask her doctor for a prescription for a longer time period, i.e. if he usually only writes it for one month, she can ask for 3 or 6 months. It's not ideal because they usually want you under pretty close supervision for something like COPD, but if the guy isn't a complete jerk then he should be willing to work with her.

Good luck. I feel your pain. My mother's premiums more than doubled for 2018...

I hope your mother gets what she needs. I would suggest finding ways to write off those few extr dollars/months so she can qualify for her meds. It’s nice to know she is working and not looking for a handout. I’ve heard of business owners buying a bunch of stuff for their business, copying the receipts/invoices, and then returning the items but using the receipts as write-offs. Also heard Chinese buffets claim losses until 2-3 years and then “selling” to a distant relative and opening under “new” name and ownership. Rinse and repeat.
