And of course the dems and liberals are up in arms about $1.5 trillion cumulative debt that MAY be incurred in the next 10 years...growth in the economy and additional taxes could totally offset that $1.5 trillion.
But those same folks did not say a SINGLE word during the entire Obama administration when over $9 trillion of debt was actually incurred. Can we say HYPOCRISY?????????

Alas....the hippo crates were a diversion from the original post...but carry on.....
|

The national debt is a huge problem, and people talk about being part of the solution or part of the problem. Our problem is simple. Both sides need to tighten the belt.
But I am dumbfounded that all of a sudden the Democrats have gotten concerned about it...for the first time in forever.....I am merely pointing out the absurdity of their outcry.
I heard not a single word during Obama's 8 years...so if they really gave a shit about it, they would have spoken up back then. THEY are all about the partisanship....JUST like the Republicans.
It is solely about partisanship....BOTH ways....Paul Ryan wants to address the national debt and the only way is to deal with the 'entitlement' programs and overall spending. But the American people are idiots....they don't seem to care what the deficit budget is or the national debt.
We can see the problem, but don't want to swallow that bitter pill.....You can't keep spending more than you make. Trump is hoping that the economic stimulus will help....generate more tax revenue with more jobs and people making more money. But that is only one side of the equation.
I can't wait for the discussions on the budget and need for cuts.....Of course the democrats will want to cut the military spending during a time when we have lunatics in Iran and North Korea. But will they want to reduce the overall growth of government. Every agency adds more people every year. Doubt that will be on the tongues of any democrat. So will either party be willing to address the problem....an overgrown government that spends more than they take in. Heck no, that will piss off all the American people who take full advantage of every governmental give away program.
|
|
Unfortunately, politicians are mostly the same.....they want to get reelected.
Every time the Republicans say or do something that might cut spending....they are shutting the government down, they are making some 90 year old homeless, they are taking away birth control to the downtrodden, they are forcing millions to die because they can't get medical....yaddah, yaddah, yaddah.....
The Democrats and news media have their game plan.....Republicans do anything that cuts anything and they won't get reelected.
But I am still waiting for a Democrat to stand up and really say they want to cut government and cut spending.....oh wait, that will NEVER happen.

Frog....you just don't understand what is going on in this country......
Both parties are bullshit. But at least the Republicans are actually encouraging business and people getting ahead....where as the Democrats want more people to be beholding to government, so they vote for the freebies.....
But neither wants to do what is really best for the American people, but then again, the American people don't want to do what is needed either...
We can't afford free healthcare for everyone....
We can't provide free phones for everyone...
We can't have government employees work for 20 years, retire and then get retirement benefits for the next 20 years.....
We can't allow millions of illegal people come into the country and proceed to get various benefits afforded to our citizens.....
We don't need a bullet train in California......
We don't need to provide free healthcare benefits to illegal immigrants in California.....
When Republicans bring up deficit spending, reining in of entitlement programs, looking at government waste, the press and democrats immediately point to all the terrible things those republicans are doing...killing people, taking away their birth control, and all of the other hysterical comments that get made........
We could cut 10% out of EVERY government program and that would be a good start....but every person who is part of those programs will whine and scream......
|
|
Yes, go ahead and put your head deep in the sand....
You avoid responding to anything that doesn't fit your narrative....
You are caught up in believing all the bullshit in the media and that everything that is conservative is wrong.....
I am actually a moderate on social issues....but we need some conservatism on the economy in this country.

SixD...welcome to the hypocrisy of politics.....
|
|
That description might apply to the first few years of the Obama administration....but his rhetoric, executive orders, added regulations, etc. throttled this economy and never let it up above 2.0%.....
|
|
Frogcocker can't get it up past two percent either so I'm sure he can relate

Trickle down has lead to a recession 100% of the time. Tax revenues go down. Over 80% of the economist agree that this tax cut is a horrible idea. But the rich got richer and poor poorer. I am "almost" rich and since I draw my income from property I thank you for not having to pay taxes any more. Just to be mean I cut my property manager's wage 5%. She quit...but I have 10 applicants at the same cut wage ! YUM !
|
|
This isn't just 'trickle down'.....there will be millions of American taxpayers paying less in taxes, keeping more of their hard earned money. So they are not waiting for the results of what the rich might do or not do.
The problem with liberals....they want to grow government.
Every case throughout history, government spends more doing something that can be done in private enterprise......
Amazon and UPS can deliver packages far cheaper and faster can the U.S. Postal Service.....
