Absolutely. Even though I hate smoking I made 6 figures on buying Phillip Morris stock in 2009. You cannot be a good investor if you let your morality intrude on opportunity. I missed out on much of the Trump rally not because it was bad for the investor class but most because I feared a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula. I took me a while to balance my shorts with the tremendous give away to corporations but I think I have it right now. I did sell my Icaan (CVRR) refinery (70% profit) as I think even red states like Oklahoma will eventually tire of poison wells and ground water...but i COULD BE WRONG. I will make a couple million on small scale nuclear war. keep your fingers crossed for me.

The paperwork for starting a church is easy....
Numbnuts is right.... having to defend it is very difficult. Supporting how worshiping a head of lettuce requires a significant budget is very technical. Proving sacerdotal duties, providing texts, other literature, schedules, project information.... that stuff is more than just a notion.
Most people would spend far more defending it then the actual money they “raised.”
Minister’s housing allowance is a great tax perk(all related living expenses excluded as taxable income) but the proof of qualification and then proof of expense is incredibly detailed. Since Uncle Sam doesn’t get to pounce on this often.... when he does.... he pounces hard with all 4 feet.
