I believe state law mandates they perform a safety check by entering your room at least once every three days. Or at least that’s what a hotel manager friend of mine told me years ago. Makes sure you’re ok. Makes sure no damage is being done to the property.

I typically put the DnD sign out as soon as I get to the room, and leave it there until I check out.
Typical stay = 3-7 days.
If over 3 days usually Ill have one housekeeping visit.
I dont like this direction and I hope it does not roll out to all properties.

If I see a DnD sign, I'm bringing my D20!

D20 this man gets it.
I put the DnD sign on the door knob so that my mom knows not to go down in to the basement when my friends are over.

I as in Vegas in November, and the place I stayed had a policy they would enter every other day, at least. You also had to show a room key to board any elevator, up or down.

I know a lot of hotels that already do that room clean every 3 days. My room stays clean and they still want to come in and replace items.
I know they do it to make sure shit aint missing and make sure your not smoking in the rooms. Its just irritating when i got other shit going on lol

3 days = partially bloated body...just sayin
(of course, Jack = partially bloated body too...sorry JD, I aimed low when I should have kept my punches up. Will make it up by praying for you tomorrow.)

Several times I have had hotel staff attempt to enter my room despite the DnD sign being placed on the door, usually it’s the cleaning lady and I assume she is just trying to get a head start on cleaning the room and thinks that perhaps i am not in there. Really annoying when you are trying to get some rest, but it makes me wonder how often they enter the room when the sign is up and you are gone, so I don’t leave anything incriminating in the room even if I am only leaving for a short time
