Apple made more profit in three months than Amazon has generated during its lifetime

The smartphone maker generated a $48.35 billion profit during its fiscal 2017 and made $13.8 billion in net income during the March 2018 quarter, while Amazon's total net income since inception is about $9.6 billion.

And I will continue my prime membership knowing it’s still a bargain for what I’m getting....

In the process I’ll be filling up landfills with smiling boxes, enjoying my fast and free delivery.

BTW -

Anyone know how many people Amazon employs in the US?

Are those minimum wage jobs or decent paying jobs?

Don’t those people pay income tax?

I wouldn't invest in Amazon because they still don't really have shipping figured out, which is the foundation of their business.

When Amazon ships via UPS or Fed Ex or the post office, delivery is fine. But when they use their own shippers, there's always problems.

In my experience, the shipping company, "AMZL US" usually fucks up. And I've read complaints similar to mine out there elsewhere on the internet. For example, the driver will say that a package was undeliverable because it's late in the day and he just doesn't want to deliver it. Then, when you call Amazon to say wtf is my package, Amazon has no way of contacting their own drivers. So they extend your prime membership for one month at no additional charge and just ship the package late. But what's the point of having a prime membership if the shipping speed is slower than you'd get from shopping elsewhere?

you wanna boycott Amazon because their drivers employment has a high turn over rate? should we boycott other retailers? fast food restaurants?

I use amazon a lot and the new membership fee is still worth it.

But, when I have time I check other vendors also like HomeDepot, Wallmart etc.. they all have items outside of their base business for shipping sometimes much less.

Prime Video and Music are added bonuses which I am stuck with, I would probably not pay for if they were separate services.

Yes I pay as little as I can also while employing American workers. Just not big enough to eliminate my taxes.

AP, Amazon is the river and rain forest in Brazil. It's very hot and humid. Has A LOT of animals and creepy crawlies. Don't think you want to go there (may still be some head hunters...no, not that kind of head Lou).

Amazon is great for checking pricing on other online retailers. If they are cheaper or close to it, I buy from Amazon because of the quick Prime shipping.

Most people don't realize that the Amazon Marketplace is but a fraction of the Amazon universe. They are the largest data center provider in the world, go to Walmart.com and you are on Amazon servers, thousands upon thousands of companies host on amazon (AWS). Yes even Apple now hosts on Amazon.

Trivia for ya.

I don’t know how many people Amazon employs worldwide, but they employ 45,000 in Seattle. Yesterday the Seattle City Council rewarded them with an additional tax of $375 per employee.

Not really. Your package gets bounced to East Riverside then back. Flex drivers in Chino DS only does mid morning routes. Could be a white van though.

They know sooner than 15 minutes. Had a guy tracking me right to the door cause he was outside waiting on a part for his car. I didn't even get out, handed it to him out the window.
