Adequate pay and benefits will attract qualified applicants. Beggars can't be choosers. If there is ever a real labor shortage, we can start laying off government employees and increase the real GDP, while reducing the deficit.

The problem is
Low quality jobs have a direct correlation with education level.
You want a high quality job, you have to work your ass off.
Nothing is handed on a silver platter, go for a profitable degree
And work your ass off to get your name out there.
Network and build a skillset.
Americans need motivation and drive.
As simple as that

Man it was a lovely afternoon. Honestly where did it go...the 25 years? The time? I started at the office over on Colorado but they quickly transferred me to my Washington Blvd office.
When I started it was a writing game. We didn't have one computer in the whole place...LOL! Can you believe that? I gave OJ his license in 1989...it was before all that.

It's hard to believe that I've given my last eye test, they asked me for my lanyard this afternoon and I started bawlin like a crazy man. Started to sink in, I'm no longer a government worker. I'm retired. And I just smiled so wide.

It isn't the job or or qualifactions for the job. Finding the applicant who does not need the station for the comfortcompanion peacock that makes filling the job difficult.

31 years at a local government job.
Hit the glass ceiling a long time ago.
But I can retire any time I want,
And take a minor deduction...
Not retiring at 100% pay.

I was at this store not to long ago in Dallas Tx. Had to wait over an hour to get some service and had to stand in line and wait.
When it was finally my turn to see the clerk at the front desk I asked if it was always this busy on Saturday afternoon and he said yes and that they were shorthanded.
I asked him why they have not hired any new personnel and what the manager told me really bothered me.
He said the reason they have not hired anyone is because they could not find any candidates that could pass "THE DRUG TEST" and the physical.
He told me they get applications and do interviews all the time.
