A state that doesn’t care what you do so long as they take all your money.
Or
A state that that lets you keep your money but won’t let you do what you want.
Both sound peachy.
I can understand why so many of you gents are divorced. Do you guys have any interests besides talk radio type complaining?
That should of been the 101 west to get to Kanan.

This State has collected some of the highest gasoline taxes in the country for decades and used that money for all the bullshit programs that get created in Sacramento and NOT solely for the maintenance and repair of the roads and bridges. They keep coming back for more and more and refuse to use the money wisely.
Time to send a clear message....Repeal the new Gas Tax Increase so the knuckleheads in Sacramento see we won't let them keep reaching into our pockets when they already waste what they have....
Shit I'm late for one of my bullshit programs...tutoring adults in literacy. You're right it is bullshit. Them fuckers ain't need to know how to read.
If that is how California is spending its money, I am all for you learning how to read.....
Duke you done ain't got no call to talk to me that aways
Moonbeam sucks.
He sucks the life out of folks that pay taxes
you can bet your bottom dollar, he don't pay much in tax as he lives gracefully behind his 20' high walled community
Everything is more expensive here in California. Duh. I just moved back after living in Jersey and Florida, also working all over the east coast. I never thought I'd say this, but I miss FL. Only because of the COL. It costed me $25 to fill up on premium there, here it's double.

"California spends 4.7 times as much per mile of state-controlled highway as the national average. More specifically, for every $1 Texas spends on its highways, California spends $5.80. For every $1 Michigan spends on its highways, California spends $3. California ranks 47th for highway conditions, while Michigan ranks 30th and Texas 11th. So while spending a lot less per mile, those states are able to have much better road conditions. In fact, over the last 20 years, California's highway system and road conditions made the least amount of progress among all 50 states"
"There is arguably more fat and wasteful spending at Caltrans than there is in any other state agency, which is saying a lot. Spending 4.7 times the national average per mile (in exchange for one of the poorest-ranked transportation systems in the county, no less) means a lot of bad decisions about spending are being made."
And couple that with the fact that we have thousands of miles of roads and freeways that are in very moderate climate, absent snow, ice, heavy rains, etc. So roads do not deteriorate as quickly as colder climate states.

Yeah, but what about the humidity?

it sucks

Well Thelonius my boy. Oregon's popping. Get you your ass up to Eugene, OR and see how your rhetoric goes up there. Can you swim? They may toss yo ass in the Wilammette, not that way lou, and no it ain't a good situation.

Grumpy gentrifying Bushwick like a crazy man.

For someone who claims to have all these fancy, exotic, luxury cars, you sound like a little bitch whining about gas prices.
not me i trust
all my fancy stuff went the way of everything else in this state
down the toilet
I do have a brand new 2006 yukon though, so i guess i'm a high roller again
It's supposed to go towards fixing those potholes in the roads that never get fixed. Don't be surprised if brown pushes out more taxes before he leaves office.
Jazz, you mentioned we need to send a message re where gas tax money is spent:
"This State has collected some of the highest gasoline taxes in the country for decades and used that money for all the bullshit programs that get created in Sacramento and NOT solely for the maintenance and repair of the roads and bridges."
We just did send a message last week (those of us who voted, anyway).
Prop 69 passed overwhelmingly:
Prop. 69 guarantees existing transportation taxes can ONLY be used for transportation improvement projects. It prevents the legislature from redirecting these funds for non-transportation purposes. Prop. 69 protects taxpayers. Does NOT raise taxes.

I'd be good with all the people who bitch and can't afford to live in CA packing up and getting the fuck out.
Win/win as far as I can see it.
becerra will try and find a way around that too
I wish all the people not born in California would get the fuck out
And Jose too
+ tu ( co)
Yeah, but how many fucktards here are going to vote for Newsome anyway?!
California
Love it or leave it !
Here we go again...
The Republic of California
Love it or leave it
Op why don't you go to your local gas station, pour some gasoline on yourself then smoke a cig?
It will make all you problems and frustrations go away.
how about I pour the gas on you ?
Good by senator Josh Newman. You were recalled because your vote was the last and deciding vote for the gas tax. Why you pissed? You screwed the voters and they returned the favor.
BTW..Oklahoma has an extensive turnpike system where you MUST pay to drive.
It actually has the most "pay to drive" miles per capita of any state.
That money is used to maintain roads.
Oklahoma does not collect their road maintenance fees thru taxes, but rather thru tolls.
In a recent report in the Tulsa area toll fees equaling $80 a month were reported for driving on roads to and from work where they had no other option.
California chooses to levy a tax on gas used instead of miles driven.
The states will get their money one way or the other.
California Miss uses the tax dollars continuously. There's been a gas tax charge for years and it just went into the general fund.
Long live the Republic of California. All of you people that are against the gas tax are political terrorists and freeloaders. You were labeled this way by Moonbeam.

At it’s not Hawaii 🤷🏿♂️

When I go back to the Midwest and tell people I am from CA they laugh at me.
The climate is about all CA has going for it these days.
