Putting a leather steering wheel cover on
Apr 21 2018 06:54PM more by gilbert33

I purchased one a few weeks ago and could not get it on and returned it. My steering wheel is 15.5 inches and the cover had that it would fit a 15.5 inch steering wheel. Today I purchased a different one and had the same trouble. I looked on youtube for a hint and all you need to do is heat the cover up with a hair dryer, I do not have a hair dryer so i used a small space heater instead. Got the cover on.

I always manage to get them on. Takes muscles, so I find somebody else to put it on.

I have a few extra pair of Autodromo Stringbacks that I'd sell. Perfect to pair with your leather steering wheel.

The nearest upholstery shop 🤔 I don't recall ever seeing an upholstery shop anywhere.

Never thought of going to an upholstery shop, very good idea. There are quite a few in Santa Ana area. I purchased a 1940's dining room table off of CL a few years ago. The table was in great condition and I got a glass table top cut for it. The chair seats were in poor condition .I went through a couple shops in S.A. and found some material I liked. I took the seats off and brought them to a shop in S.A. They put new padding and the material on the seats. I believe it was $20 a seat. Now
I have a dining room table set straight out of the Antique Road Show.

I put one on my steering wheel about fifteen years ago. Took me four hours to lace it up. It's still holding up just some ware from my thumbs.
