Please define, "Common sense gun laws"
|
|
It should be common sense that people that have been diagnosed with mental illness or emotional disorders (depression, anger issues) should not have access to guns. Neither should convicted violent criminals. Neither should non military members that are under 21 because lets be real, at 18 most are still not emotionally stable nor act like adults (still got them teenager emotional swings, still liable to act out of vengeance because you broke up or got your ass kicked).
My right to live free of fear that some psycho or criminal is gonna walk around with a gun that can kill people at a moments notice at a public venue I'm attending should have priority over said individuals' rights to carry a gun.
If you're a mentally sane law abiding citizen go ahead and have your guns. What most gun mongers don't understand is that those of us that want gun control do not want to take away your 2nd ammendment right. We just believe that when you are purchasing an item that can be used to end life, it should not be as easy as buying a pack of underwear. There should be background checks to help keep guns away from those that pose a genuine threat to society if given a gun.
I'm all for letting the good guys walk around with guns, just not the bad guys. I understand it's an inconvenience to law abiding citizens to go through these checks but it's about safety, not convenience. No one is asking you to turn your guns in, so no its not an attack on the 2nd ammendment before you extremists break out your pitch forks. We just ask for there to be some regulation into those who want to acquire guns from here on out so the next generation can live without fear of being shot at school or the movies. If you don't see the common sense in that, then you obviously just lack common sense in general or are blinded by extreme bias and lack of ability to see the other side and compromise.

The Rifle
The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of it's own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes. But there are more good men than evil, and while the latter can not be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.
Author Jeff Cooper
The NRA’s CEO, Wayne LaPierre
The NRA released a statement last week maintaining its long-held position that “banning guns from law-abiding Americans, based on the criminal act of a madman, will do nothing to prevent future attacks.”

Apparently you are unfamiliar with California gun control laws and what counts for legislative common sense these days. The fuck they don't want to take away 2nd Amendment rights.

"My right to live free of fear that some psycho or criminal is gonna walk around with a gun that can kill people at a moments notice at a public venue I'm attending should have priority over said individuals' rights to carry a gun."
Criminals and psychos are going to have guns no matter what laws you make. So if you want to be safe from them, get a gun.

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot no deputy!

Well then you’re a dumbass
|

Quick burn your Levi’s while wearing them!

There’s already laws in place how much more common sense do you need?? These people break the law by killing people a three year difference is not going to do a damn thing,Yeah let’s keep adding stupid shit to the fire arm to make it (safe) in the long run it’s coming to the point where either the firearm is useless or the manufacturer isn’t going to produce the firearm for that state cause of so called common sense laws. And your comment would be you can still own the firearm right ? Strip the tool of its abilities it is now useless yeah great I might as well throw the fucking thing at somebody.
Now ask me should somebody own 15 semi rifles and 15 semi pistols? For what do you need that many damn firearms I’m only saying this due to the Vegas shooting. I can only agree on limiting the ownership of firearms other then that the laws are there. Everything else is against the 2a and until that is gone fuck off and go to Australia.
|
|
I disagree with that you can own as many guns and pistols as you want. Its not like you can fire them all at once. Its not like you can go carrying them all with you, because you can't
I could say the samething about other things
like why do you need a car that does 200mph , you don;t
why do you own 7 cars
why do you own 5 condos or 10 homes
that argument is just dumb

I step away from blog for a few hours and it goes crazy.
“My right to live free of fear.”
you have better odds of being horribly mauled in a car accident of some sort than being shot.
Don’t step outside, it’s a scary bad workd and nothing you can do will stop a bad thing from happening to you.
It makes me happy that corporations are hitting back and asking for common sense gun laws in other states.

Sherkan I agree the odds are super fucking low but people think this is Syria and walking outside your going to get hit by flying crossfire like this is the wild Wild West. Firearms have been around for a long time and will still be here for a long time. The culture is changing the children and people need to be informed, don’t get me started on what issues should be a priority because firearms is the last fucking thing people should be bitching at, but it’s cool fuck our ecosystem and our planet as long as jimmy Isn’t allowed to buy an ar15 that’s all I care about.

Yes Levi Strauss products are all manufactured overseas.
If they really cared about gun violence, why don't they spend millions to help the disadvantaged in the major 'murder capitals' like Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans, Baltimore, Cleveland....etc. and work with local authorities to fix problems.
Of course, all of the mayors of these cities are Democrat.
|
|
@irent they are going to put enough gun laws on the books that will eventually prevent you from owning one
|
|
Commmmmon folks. You don't think we're here to read all the blog entries do you???

jazz, fubs, and EZ. Thank you and I wish I had the time to chime in, but you guys all pretty much covered it.
California has the most restrictive laws anywhere and still the most gun violence. Wonder why? Fuckin' libtards who think more LAWS will stop people who don't follow the LAW anyways. Who thinks like that?
I wonder if new laws would prevent what we're doing here? Apparently not.
|
|
you are wrong thats not the reason
the reason is these libtards are straight up socialist/commie.
They want to get the guns out of the hands of the public so when the time comes when they can enforce there socialist/commie agenda. You will not have the capacity to defend yourself from there actions or challenge them.
|
|
Why take the guns when you can take the money?
|
|
Can I have the guns and the money? Kthx.
|
|
For once, Fubar really nailed it.
A lot of the common sense arguments start falling apart as soon as we question specifics.
People with diagnosed mental illnesses should not have guns? So if I go to a shrink and confess to being depressed, seeking treatment, I lose a constitutional right? So screw you! Maybe I won't go get help after all. Does that sound like a good idea for society?
None of this stuff is as easy and 'common sense' as the gun control people want to make out.
|
|
@Sharkhan if you have money when the time comes they will take it
