Drop the xr, if you want better features.
So Xs or Xs max...smaller screen vs bigger screen.

the extra $250 is not much in the whole scheme of things, since this is a tool you use every day and possibly every hour. Get the XS you won't regret it.

Isn’t the “smaller” XS bigger than the plus? Which means the XS Max is ginormous?

I would go for the 5.8 screen as I don't like the larger screen. It's something that you need to decide on and its personal preference.

I would just buy Apple Stock.

Just buy the big one especially if you are keeping it in a hand bag most of the time. We all use our phones more then any device anymore. So get whats best and get apple care after 2 years get a new phone.
