Has anyone tried the keto diet?

I have been doing it for a little over a month now and lost 17 pounds. I was getting fat and I didn't like it... KETO SUCKS but it gets the job done. I barely eat any carbs and try to drink a lot of water.

Has anyone done the diet and if so what do you like to eat on it?

I mostly eat cheese and meat lol

xoxo

I dabbled in this awhile back and it did not work for me. I love me the meat, cheese, eggs and protein aspects, but my body is made for carbs too. Remove potatoes, bread cheese and beer and I am a grumpy fucker. Besides that, I just did not feel 'right' after a few days, can't really explain but it's not for me.

Sounds like the old Atkins diet I tried a lot of years back. I’m with NSF, it did make me lose weight but I didn’t like it. Carbs is so good and I couldn’t just cut it out of my diet forever.

Hope it works for you Babii!!! Keep at it!

You can still eat carbs, but it's hard to eliminate them completely because just about every good food has them. Start by eating less of them day by day, week by week, month by month until you've reached a point to where you are eating half of what you were eating.

Compliment that with walking or jogging for 30-60 minutes 5 times/week. Eat more veggies and fruit and you'll see a loss in weight in about 45 days. Consistency is key to success and don't give up.

We don't need no stinking diet.

You're welcome!

Love the Keto Lifestyle!

Have lost 30lbs and lots of inches. It's not all about the lbs, but the way that your body transforms which is why measurements are key, too.

I eat all kinds of stuff ...
Chicken, turkey, fish, cheese, bacon, eggs, macadamia nuts, almonds, brazil nuts, steak, butter, ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, caesar dressing olives, heavy whipping cream, broccoli, zucchini, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, green beans, spinach, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, pork rinds & even low-carb, yummy, tasty, chocolate ... and the list goes on!
Wish I could eat avocado since it is a healthy fat, but it doesn't work for me.
I even do Starbucks Keto-style as well as make my own Frapps & Lattes at home!!
I make Keto bagels, keto muffins and a variety of fat bombs.

And the best part is I choose to carb-up once a week = cheat day ...
However, I really don't cheat much!
It is good to shock the system and can help when a plateau hits.
Also note that Keto is different for women due to hormones, etc.

It did take awhile to adapt and after that --->BAM!!!
I also do intermittent fasting and it came easier after I was fat-adapted.
Bad carbs & processed foods are what make the body accessible to disease.

If you have any questions, pm me ... It's the best thing I have done for myself!

Eating carbs is essential to being in shape - not skinny or droopy - but In Shape.

Eat the right carbs/fat/protein - if you hit the fucking gym - and you will not just lose fat but gain muscle and look good.

And eating all that shit is actually healthy vs. trying to put your body in an unnatural state to eat itself

2K Calories a day (of nutrition) for most:
30% calories of protein
40% clean carbs
30% fat

Please disagree below.

Keto is life changing but it is not for everyone. I lost 50 lbs on keto. Went back on a "normal" healthier diet and gained 20 back and felt like shit. My body and mind felt so much better on keto.

The human body is not designed to use carbs and glucose for energy. It is difficult at first to cut out all whole and enriched grains including bread, beer, processed foods potatoes and corn. Also sugar and most fruits are high in carbs and need to go.Lacy O sounds like she is doing it right and as far as diets go, you are allowed many food options without carbs. You just need to make substitutions for the starchy foods and fruit and sugar. There is a movie on Netflix called One Magic Pill.If you watch that, you will learn the benefits. There is much more to the Keto diet than weight loss.

Keto is not for everyone. Hard body Hotties is doing just fine.Obviously she keeps herself in great shape and carbs won’t hurt her tight body. Us older, fat people can benefit by cutting most carbs. You dont crave those carbs after a few weeks. Of course excercise is always important no matter what you eat

I agree with @HardBodyHottie,,,,the zone diet is what the 40/30/30 is called. Its important to get carbs, complex carbs and slow carbs like apples, sweet potatoes, broccoli, blueberries, and monounsaturated fats for energy. Of course no diet works to lose weight unless you burn more calories than you take in. That's why exercise is important.

Heyyyy Babii! I miss you boo!

Have you felt weird at all after starting the diet? I have been thinking of trying it but have heard stories of people feeling less energetic and depressed, so I am hesitant to try it.

If anyone else has tried this and can answer my question to her I'd appreciate it.

Or just look up ketosis and see how good Research says it is for your body and long term health.

Pretending it is the way to go for diabetics, etc. is not just fucking stupid but poor uneducated advice. Ketosis is not ideal for people with CKD and if you are diabetic you are most likely in that category or you will be.
Now cutting sugar and the wrong carbs - easy and of course.

And WTF, if you want to fuck with your body on a fad - enjoy.

PS - Carbs are not created equal

Watch the movie one Magic Pill and you will understand. We are the only species on the planet that is obese besides the ones we feed.Every other species controls their weight naturally. That is because they eat what is natural in their environment. They don’t eat pizza, cheeseburgers, potatoes, corn or anything else that turns to glucose immediate after it it is processed by their liver. Some dietetics that were insulin dependent no longer are thanks to the Keto diet.Eisenhower had s heart attack while in office and failed research mistakenly attributed heart disease to a high fat diet. The food chart you have been living by should be turned upside down.

OP... I wouldn't take advise from any of these dumbasses. You need to see a dietitian or a good personal trainer. Your body is completely unique and you need someone that can help you get on a plan and monitor your progress. These Fucks are just looking for brownie points to show they read a diet book once in their life

I hardly ever cheat but I do once every few weeks. Last time I cheated I go so sick.

I lost 40lbs, my wife lost 60lbs. Boosted our energy, our moods, everything got better, we fuck like 3+ times a day, it's insane. She came off all meds (opiates, xanax, etc).

People that say they get lethargic or depressed or gain weight aren't doing it right.

If you are in chronic pain, suffering from anxiety or depression or both, Keto done right will absolutely 100% fix your shit.

My friend did this and lost a lot of weight (40 plus pounds). She became obsessed with it... almost religious about it. Recently she's gotten very sick with candida. Who know if it's related. Her doctor wants her to eat a more balanced diet to diversify her nutrients but she won't do it. She looks weak and frail and she's losing her hair.

I am a long term diabetic. I was on Atkins many many years ago and had good success, until I got complacent. I had half followed for partially for years and my A1C had just gotten worse

Fast forward I started trying last fall. my A1C is was down and so is my weight. The group that I loosely follow does not call it a DIET. Instead they refer to it as a WOE ( Way Of Eating) abd cheating is a terrible idea.

It appears that there are two posters who really seem to grasp the concept and they described it better than I could

I lovingly refer to it as the BACON DIET

Bacon eggs and cheese.Avocados. Good food. It is hard to convince people of the benefits as it reversed all the bad research that was done in the 50s that linked heart disease to high fat diets. If a diebetic is insulin dependent their blood sugar could get too low if insulin medication is not reduced.Bedt to ask your Doctor first. If you have insulin resistance the medication doesn’t add insulin so you can feel safe and even fast on this diet.it is better for your kidneys since you don’t have blood sugar spikes One of the posts was far from the truth. Again, people educated in the last century won’t accept the benefits of Keto
