Big Hurricanes have happened before, but because of global warming they are happening more often now. As the oceans get warmer the storms will be become more frequent and stronger. In the coming decades you will start to see them develop in areas where they had never been before as even places like the northern pacific start getting warmer.

Of course the world goes through changes but I don't think the ancients pumped harmful gasses into our atmosphere at alarming rates or suck the blood of the earth to fuel their cars. To think that's not going to change how the planet treats us is well... You know.ππΎββοΈ

Hurricanes in the Pacific Ocean offshore Mexico never reach California. When they do, especially a time when they begin to make landfall over San Diego... economies will fall as spending is diverted to recovery efforts in both sides of the Americas.
This may take awhile. The west coast has dry air because cold air from the Arctic circulates clockwise down the western North American coasts. Whereas warm air from the equator circulates clockwise over the Gulf of Mexico and tee Caribbean and makes that area humid as fuck.
When California becomes humid, we're all gon' die, betches.

Gore predicted increased/larger hurricanes over a decade ago, didn't happen.
Now he's triggered by 2 concurrent hurricanes/cyclones in the Pacific and Atlantic.
Nevermind that 2018 was predicted to be below average.
