Skrill asks for your full social security number too, kinda don’t like that. I’ve only used Visa or MasterCard gift cards here to buy FX points in the past. Much easier, and I don’t need to give my SS number to Skrill.

With all the legal changes abound, I fully respect what people need to do to avoid running afoul of the law.
however:
If people can't walk into a Walmart/ 7-11 plunk down cash to buy a gift card and use it to buy fx points, I bet many people will stop using the site.

For those who are complaining, is there a better alternative to HX?
I haven't found it.
I will not ever give my SSN to any site like Skrill, CoinBase, etc which means I am choosing to go old school & send in a money order. It's a choice.
I get a LOT of value from HX & I appreciate what they're doing to keep the site up.

Very helpful blog post by Fubar showing step-by-step how to buy using a crypto ATM.
It seems with that method you don't need to sign up on coinbase or any other site to get a crypto "wallet" so that seems to be the easiest way to do this.

If I use a crypto ATM, do I have to do it wearing skin tight jeans, vans and floral short sleeve button ups with a fedora and vintage glasses while sipping kombucha and wearing headphones with no music playing?

Something to think about before you park too much in cryptocurrencies or buy before you're ready to spend. I'm no expert on the matter and this might be sky is falling journalism to get clicks.
However, buying and immediate spending i.e. purchasing fx points, I would think, would be fine.

CoinBase took 4-5 business days to establish. After that, it took about 5 minutes to get points. So easy, even a caveman can do it. The only drawback is I’ve lost 58% of the value of my crypto currency purchase. Don’t buy more than you can afford to lose. If that’s too much to swallow, buy $500 in money orders and overnight them to the site. You’ll be set for at least a couple of years.

I tried signing up for Skrill today. What a nightmare.
This app is not ready for prime time. Very difficult to navigate. Many complicated verification procedures. Very difficult to understand. I submitted my bank account number to use for payments but after that it got so difficult. I could not edit or remove my bank information once submitted! Some of the buttons do not work. Furthermore the mobile iOS app did not run like the desktop version.
Just wasted 3 hours trying to set up an account. I became suspicious.
I will skip this idea and use money orders.

I just purchased a money order from the USPO. Service charge $1.20.
No brainer and easy as can be. It took me 5 minutes.
