From a woman's point of view...all of the choices sucked simply because they are all Conservatives. The list of judges the Idiot was choosing from was compiled by the Federalist and if you have any knowledge on them you would know they want to overturn Roe v Wade.
Unfortunately most conservatives disagree with My right to choose....Therefore they are the Worst!

It is not just about me...When saying "My" I am talking about women. Now to your argument that is should be left to the states it pretty much already is. There are plenty of red states through the middle that have made it virtually impossible for a woman to choose by closing down Planned Parenthoods and harassing any doctor that does the procedure.
And most women do not use it as a form of birthcontrol....that is a stupid comment. Terminating a pregnancy is not cheap nor is it an easy decision. But accidents happen, women are raped and complications do arise that the only option is abortion.
And as some of you suggest when you talk about your Right to bear arms..."First it's our guns then what is next". Same for the woman. First it is our right to choose...Whats next? Our right to vote? Our right to Work? Our right to have a bank account?
So again....All of the choices for Scotus Sucked!

Typical of some Males to walk around the point. Right now every woman in america can choose what is best for her body. Adding a Conservative judge is one step closer to taking away that right.
Justify it any way you want to...but that is what Women are facing. Our first right to be taken away and who knows what will follow?

Everyone seems to be completely forgetting cause and effect. If you allow one freedom to fall victim to any group that has an imbalance of one ideal, point of view, and/or belief it puts all of us at risk, regardless of political affiliations. I would love to believe that courts can surgically remove anything from a Law without opening the floodgates to special interest, political agenda and/or pressure from the right or the left. History has proven that this is pure fantasy. If a woman’s right to choose is lost because of an ultra conservative court, what is the check or balance not to loose other freedoms that are essential. Lopsided influence is never a good thing. The Dark ages come to mind.

For those who complain about 'activist' judges overriding the 'will of Congress and the states', it might do you some good to think what the country would look like if it were not for some of those 'activist' decisions.
The Supremes . . .
** legalized interracial marriage
** ended racial discrimination in public transportation, in housing, in hotels, and in restaurants
** ended school segregation
** made states provide lawyers to poor people on trial
** legalized women obtaining their own condoms, etc. without having to have a MAN with them
** made it illegal to draw voting districts in a way that ensured black people could never elect a black person to Congress
** made a sitting President give up secret tapes that showed he involved himself in a criminal conspiracy to cover up crimes by a Presidential campaign(Watergate)
All of your so-called 'Constitutionalists' argued the government had no power to enforce these things, because they all read the Constitution 'the way the Founding Fathers meant it'.
Well, crap on that! The Founding Fathers were not God. They accomplished great things, but most of them were old rich white guys who made sure the government served the interests of people just like them. Societies are not stagnant. They evolve. Our definitions change, so the meanings of the words change. What was considered 'fair" or what was considered 'cruel and unusual' then and now are different things.
You can't make it 1800 again, no matter how bad you wish for it.

You know as well as I do that the Democrats and Republicans switched places on the race issue in the 60s. That is when the South switched to the GOP after Johnson got some laws passed for racial equality.
That burned Southern hides, and they turned against LBJ for him doing the right thing. They are still talking about states rights (to be racist and misogynist) and holding that grudge 50 years later.
So please don't talk about history form 100 years ago and ignore everything since. It makes you look uneducated.

Fubar - While there are some doctors who won’t do the procedure for fear of getting sued, there are no laws that require a man to get his wife’s permission for a vasectomy.

I would love to continue this debate by doing some Googling and outlining the characteristics that racists, misogynists, and robber barons have in common with the GOP platform , but I have to go to work right now.
