Yes. I have and lost 30lbs on it. That and regular exercise. Cutting down the carbs and sugars was especially tough but after about 2 weeks you get used to it.

If you want to be healthy do part of what DT said and high protein - some cardio, but need to lift even at light level and eat 5-7 times a day including your snacks.
EAT carbs - grains/pasta/rice and fruit carbs but if you want to actually be in shape you need those to get through your workouts and protein for repair - it won't help your energy load.
Keto will keep you thin though.

I did it a year ago. I lost 52 lbs. I had a strict 6 meal plan. The diet is great because it's high protein and high fatty foods. Just make sure you get your macros corrects, I would say that's the most important part with Keto. I work out 5 days a week. Cardio was every day, with working out usually 1 or 2 muscle groups. Keto is great because you shed fat quickly. If you have any other question just dm me.
