The U.S. economy added 312,000 jobs in the month of December. This number blew past economists’ expectations who forecasted only 182,000 jobs would be added in the final month of 2018.
And as jdjr just stated.....let's all root for the U.S. to fail and our economy to implode. Why would anyone hope for failure by our economy? The hate is so extreme, people would prefer that stocks go down, jobs are lost and wages stagnate.....damn, people are really fucked up.

Uhhhh Dirty Cat, remember LAST WEEK when Dow went up 1000 one day and finished the week down...stop tryin to grab on to any straw. If we resume the down trend after this good news...what will you say then?
And to Mr. Jazz, I don't WISH the economy to go down and I don't WANT the US to fail (which is why we should boot you know who out). I know the economy goes up and down. All I'm doing is trying to read the predictive tea leaves and forecast what's coming. Not just trumpet what has been (and ascribe it all to Tramp). But yes, I think Tramp is a pompous, lying, POS, (and I'm tryin to be nice this early in 2019) who won an election but doesn't represent the best of America.

Yes, the Dow was at 18259 on 11/7/16, the day before the election. It is now at 23404, a mere 28% increase in 2+ years. Damn, throw the bum out!!!!!

I agree that Trump is a pompous ass, blowhard, stretches the heck out of the truth, misstates facts and is certainly NOT someone I would have as a best friend.
But he was far better than our alternative, and he is systematically actually fulfilling campaign promises or at least trying to do so, unlike so many politicians.
He is not smooth and articulate like the snake oil salesmen who reside in DC, but it is kind of refreshing to have someone in office who tells it like it is.
Historically, our allies have almost been as bad as our enemies. Trump is pushing the NATO members to actually pay their fair share (no other President had the balls to come out so harshly), he is attacking lopsided trade agreements and we could soon have better deals with Mexico and Canada. China has long taken advantage of the US and I have no idea if Trump can be successful in getting a trade deal with them, but at least he is swinging hard and the tariffs are hurting China far more than us. I think we can outlast them as our economy is far stronger than theirs.

If presidents were only rated by how well the Dow did in their term(s), history would be very different. A very short sighted argument on how to rate a president.
How many more supportive allies does the US have in the world today compared to before Tramp?
Let's see how many people/businesses are happy after paying their taxes this year. (No, we can't only count rich people...sorry) And then let's also look back at the US debt 10 years from now.

No one is rating him solely on the Dow.
We had fucked up trade deals with people who ARE our allies. They took advantage of us for years. Trump is trying to cut better deals.
Nice allies....we pay for their military protection and we march around to every insurgent nation to help out. Our allies are still with us but they need to do their share....and they are whining about it, which is totally expected. Actual accountability and responsibility on them.
You are talking about debt...where were you during Obama's 8 years?....now that was debt. I think businesses will be happy with their taxes this year. And we won't really know for a few years to see if Trumps policies will help overall.
He has started to push for hiring freezes, no automatic raises, and less generous pensions for Federal workers. He is taking on the 'swamp'....those Federal people don't want any changes...they like the gravy train they have.

The Swamp is the tens of thousands of Federal workers who suck on the government tit and many do absolutely nothing to provide services to the country. He has made many mistakes with his appointments. But he is slowly learning. And I think he is finding that his appointments are definitely 'swamp dwellers' as most of the people in DC
