These damn gophers are so annoying and they WONT GO AWAY

ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY...HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM...OR IS IT JUST ONE BUSY LITTLE PEST...EITHER WAY...IT HAS TO GO

There seems to be an infinite amount of gophers in my area...could be the empty plains or the ones that are thrown out of the golf course,...whatever t maybe be, they are finding home in my yard...but I guess it’s their home too...IM SO CONFUSED ON HOW TO RID THEM WITH STAYING TO TRUE TO LOVING ALL ANIMALS
The old days you would have a person stand next to every hole & have a shovel or hoe in your hand. One person would stick the end of the hose into one hole, and turn the water on. Flush them out to wack a mole.... I mean gopher. I never had the guts to do the wacking, so would just scream if it tried to come up out of the hole I was watching, and someone would come wack it for me.
Hmmm what is more humane, wacking, drowning or letting the cat finish it off.
Those steel traps at Home Depot work..... find the main tunnel from a fresh hole..... dig it out and put traps in both sides of the tunnel, throw in some carrot tops and wait.
go to 99 cent store get a bottle of ammonia and a couple tennis balls wet them roll down hole or just put around ...that should get rid of them plus safe ...
